What is required and essential when ready to sell your own ebook?

Hi there,
I have almost finished developing a new ebook, content, graphics, and ecover almost complete, but what essential information should I include in the ebook to make it legal, safe, copyright, etc.

Also, should I be including any links inside my ebook, like a link back to my website where they purchased the ebook from?

What's a good practice to follow?

And should I try and sell it anywhere other than my own site using my own created paypal button for selling this item?

Any advice would be great.

The eBook is a 9 part course teaching anyone who wants to learn rhythm guitar what is required from start to finish....its well written and is a great guide to any beginner ready to learn everything it takes to become a true guitar player!

Thanks for the feedback Art of Marketing.

I am a bit clueless when it comes to you tube so I do not have a channel set up for this, I cant seem to work it out, i only have my own personal channel with my uploads on?

I like your creative thinking, however this would probably involve me changing the copy to reflect this angle.

Not sure about JVZoo, my product I don't want to charge much for, and If I list on JVZoo I need to create a capture page, and affiliate links and banners...

Might be a good idea, but there would be a lot more work involved to make this happen i think?

    Cheers

    Mike

You can certainly add a link to your website, in a way that should bring some traffic. Also, for the legal part, check out some of the big ebooks you might have acquired over the years. They all have a copyright/legal notice page. You can just adapt it to your project and your needs.

Have you added your BIO in the eBook. People can relate to you more if you include your picture and a brief BIO of yourself. You can also include a link to your website here or blog here as well so people can keep in touch with you.

Is this true? I have written a report that I want to give away for free. I haven't got a clue about copyright - I just don't want people stealing my content, and I don't want to get sued for giving false information (which I don't think I have).

Also, what about disclaimers? How do they work, do I need one?

      Please help!!!

An interesting comment in the context of a discussion about copyright.

It's amazing how many people think it is OK to 'steal' the wording of a legal notice when nothing could be further from the truth.

By the way, I am not suggesting that you (MrGoe) were suggesting that - I simply felt it might be useful to point out that you weren't

Copyrights is a legal question that should be asked elsewhere, perhaps legalzoon or other attorney website. As for disclaimers, it's a good idea to include one when the recipient of the info may have an expected result. I would put one in.
Also, having a link to your site is great, especially when your content is so good that people share it. The link would take them to a page where they can opt in to another free goodie or just for your newsletter.

What you will need is a 1 page “sales page” on your website.

The sale page is where you will state what you have to offer, benefits, testimonials, price, guarantee’s, etc.

If done well this can be the difference between success or failure.

What you will need is a very good copy writer as there is an art to it.

    All the best.
