What Is Best? Guarantee or Trial?

Hey,

It's the first time that I developed my own program. It's a 60 day course where I teach people several things through audios and videos.

I am having some issues in deciding what is best, if I should have a trial of a few days or a guarantee.

For example if I have a guarantee of 30 days. Then probably there will be people who will use this as a way to scam me. They will download the whole product and cancel their payment before it ends.

So I would like a few suggestion about what I should do? Thanks

-JBarros

    Hi Jbarros,

If you've ever bought a car and experienced the lengths the dealer will go to to get you to take a test drive, then you have your answer - a trial is best.

Regarding a guarantee: that's not an alternative, but a legal requirement, when selling anything at a distance.

The only exception is where there is an element of customization, such as creating a video or sales letter especially for the client.

    Warmest regards,

    Paul

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

    Hi Jbarros,
Don't make all your course available initially. Give them a section of the course with a guarantee of their money back if they don't like it. Interact with them during the "trial period" and you will soon find out who is going to be serious and who are the time wasters.

Once you have confirmation that they are going to continue (payment) start to release a different section of the course monthly. If some people want all of it at once, offer a discount for complete payment and release all of it to them.
    Hope that helps.

Thanks, that really seems like a great option.

My program is divided in several week. So I'm thinking about giving the first week for free then separate all and people can purchase week by week.

I have a program but I think it doesn't offer such option.

What program can use for such? Like E-Junkie?

Guarantee isn't something that you can chose not to provide. It's like admitting that it might not work.

SO the real question here is that whether you will give out the trial or not. There is an option C here. Offer up your program to a couple of trusted members here in exchange for an honest review. If your program actually works, their good reviews would do wonders.

    Hi JBarros,

There are lots of 7 day test drives for $1.00 this is a great way to get

customer attention. If you are giving good value quality products or services

    the above applies well .

Potential Customers need to see value in what they are parting out $$$ for, a

7 trial can give your Potential Customers an insight into your teaching style,

    product useability and so on.

If you believe you have the Product or service that will be of benefit to

Potential Customers Stand behind it, Show everyone a little goodwill they will

    become loyal.

    # 1 - 3 day trials are in my humble opinion are only for those who don't trust

their own ability to captcha their audience or don't stand behind what they

are peddling.(Often find scams use this approach)

    Thanks everyone.

I have no doubt that is a great program but I still have some doubt about how it will work for my clients.

There are so many steps that I should of done and only now I am realizing them. Next time I will know better.

Anyway, should I do a 60 day beta testing for like 5 clients?

The problem is I will need to wait that amount of time until I can start seeing some profit.

I would go for a trial first. That way I can see if I like the software and decide if I want to go ahead with buying it !

Trial all the way, that is if your product is good. Providing a trial shows that you believe in your product.

Yes a 7 day trial with a 30 day money back guarantee is the route I would go myself. I have purchased a number of trial products over the years and unless they are crap I almost always buy the. The 30 day money back guarantee is your risk reversal in your close; "My 7 day trial with a 30 day money back guarantee makes this offer risk free for you".

It`s hard to go for trials on a 60day program, seeing that for it to work it will require its user to go through it all. It`s easier for softwares, but for limited time programs I go with the guarantee and that's that. Maybe a discount for some honest reviews.
