Help Please On Getting Sales People Off-Line

Hi Warriors:

Hope the weekend went well.

I need advice on promoting my latest product off-line because it is a bit different than the previous marketing I have had to do. When I use the word differs I mean in the past even not being a sales person by trade I was able to market rather well through forums, groups, social marketing, author sites, etc.

The previous products were physical books. The latest is a speaking and writing course that has a myriad of uses. One big segment that can benefit would be high schools/colleges because it offers all facets of training from a large E-Book, audio modules, email, and phone coaching.

Not being a person that has any expertise with cold calling, how do I go about finding salespeople and or companies that can call, email, and write the proper decision makers in high schools, colleges, broadcasting schools, and certain business throughout the USA/Canada?

Are there specific sites to find/list my needs and are there any individuals or companies that you can recommend first hand?

Any help is appreciated because there is a lucrative road that I can take with this and I owe it to myself to try to market in the real world as well as the internet universe.

Thank you for your time as always and have a great week.

Well, it might sound to obvious but what about placing an ad on an online free ad directory? CL for sure !

If you are wanting to promote your product offline, why would you bother promoting the opportunity online?

There are many, excellent offline resources for finding offline salesmen - they are called Job Centres or Employment Agencies and they will all accept your requirements and create a compelling advert for you and promote your opportunity to the clients they have who best meet your criteria - for free. You pay on results only (not to the national agencies, though).

There is no shortage of excellent salesmen available out there at the moment so your timing is fortuitous - don't waste time seeking fish up trees in New York.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

      Hi Art:

I would not call any attempt to learn or teach a waste. The current project is sold both on-line and off, in addition somebody on the Warrior Forum or people plural can have expert knowledge about a topic off-line.

For example Jane Doe may have 2000 posts and inform me that her brother works for Scholastic Book Fairs and his experience is you contact Joe Smith at....

That is the reason I posted information online.

Thank you for your time and hope you have the greatest of days.

Adding to Art's answer, for a top-level sales pro you may need to hire a good executive recruiter (aka "headhunter"). Expect to pay 10-20% of the first year's pay as a finder's fee.

Another alternative would be ads in national papers, like WSJ and USA Today.

If you ever have trouble getting to sleep, you could try wading through the swamp at sites like Monster.com.

Craig, as I was typing this, another thought hit me.

Have you tried networking through sites like LinkedIn or (shudder) Facebook? Even Twitter, if you're into that. Send a message out on your network and ask for help, just like you did here...

          Hi John:

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Hope you are well this afternoon. I am on Twitter and was actually going to post about the product in a different capacity, but your idea is great! Why not ask Twitter world about sales people.

Thanks so much. Monster is a great suggestion too!
