It is requesting updated cc info. The graphics in the email look kinda basic. Subject line... Yahoo! Mail Plus Account Overdue Reminder (30 Days Before Service Is Cancelled) Text: Notice: Yahoo! Mail Plus Account Overdue Reminder (30 Days Before Service Is Cancelled) Dear [my real first name -- which is not my yahoo id], Thank you using Yahoo! Mail Plus. Unfortunately, we were unable to process your credit card when we tried to renew your Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This usually happens when the credit card you used to pay for the service has expired, or when we don't have the current billing address for the card. Please note that your Yahoo! Mail Plus account will be cancelled if payment is not received. Please check the credit card information that we have for you online at https://billing.yahoo.com and make sure that the information is current, complete and accurate. If you don't want to lose the features of Yahoo! Mail Plus - enhanced spam protection, 20MB message size, and more, you should update your billing information now to avoid any interruption in this service. If you have any difficulties accessing the billing information, please visit the Yahoo! Billing Help Page for assistance. Thank you for your immediate attention and cooperation. Sincerely, Yahoo! Go to your yahoo page where you login usually and login and see if payment is actually due and see if your cc info is up to date. Don't click the link in the email.

I did that -- it turns out I DO need to update my info. So, I'm still not sure if the email is legit. But because of your suggestion, it doesn;t matter! I can just do all the fixing 'from the inside out,' without clicking on the link in the suspect email. Thanks! -- TW |

I got the exact same email, and it was legit. My card had expired, and I just had to update the billing info.
