I have an idea for a thread: rather than having the same information rehashed for the umpteenth time, how about everyone offer one unique piece of advice from their own personal experiences in internet marketing?

Rephrased, if you could offer one straightforward bit of information to someone who already had a foundation in internet marketing, what would it be?

I'm looking forward to your responses!

Create a good and valuable product that people buy. There's no better way to build your list, and no cheaper way to advertise.

For example I can create a product, launch a WSO for $40, and if it's good enough to where it exceeds the initial investment that I put into it, then I am literally paying a penny on the dollar for advertising or less. Not only that, I'm getting buyers onto my e-mail list, I'm able to build a community that loves what I'm able to produce, and I'm making money at the same time.

I've built niche sites, used Google AdWords, and a whole host of other things, but nothing has been more profitable making my own product.

This is some very solid advice. Create a quality product that offers value and you will be able to make money AND build a list of BUYERS at the same time.

  • Speaking of money....

    Put your priorities in order.

While working hard slaving away at your computer night and day trying to start up your business and strike it rich in order to someday help your family, your spouse, your kids, your friends and your neighbors,... be sure to not ignore your family, your spouse, your kids, your friends and your neighbors in the process. .... Because one day you will look around and realize they are all gone, because all they wanted, was your attention. So stop chasing the money 24/7, and enjoy your life and the people in it now!

Instead of creating a new thread, you could have posted your own tip in one of the existing threads exactly like this one...

Here is a tip that is fundamental to all marketing. See Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, or any other motivational sales guru you can think of:

Contribute something yourself before asking of others.

Give and you will repaid a thousandfold.

    Sorry, those might be rehashed.

Create a plan. Long term, short term and right now. The above posts are great advice. The issue most people will end up having is that they don't have a plan.

So you have a list of buyers. People piss those away like candy because they didn't have a well laid out plan of action. So here is what happen to the common consumer of WSO's

The buy it based on emotion then they get all excited to make scads and scads of money.
So they follow the instructions for a short time realize there is work involved and move on to the next offer in their inbox.

They lose focus because they don't have a plan or a compelling why other than I want more money and I want to succeed because life sucks. How is this helping?

I made my first bit of cash because I had a plan. I had a why and most importantly I gave everything I could. So my advice (if it isn't already clear) know why you are doing this then plan how to get there and let that why drive you in a way you have never been driven before. Worked for me and many before me. IT WILL WORK FOR YOU : )

These are all the questions that keep people bouncing around. The vehicle might change but the destination needs to be the same.

If you are letting all these thoughts stop you..... You will never get there. Pick and direction and go. Failure is going to be part of the whole thing. Accept it move on and try again. Really is that simple and no one can tell me other wise. No excuses. This tony ribbons video might help. The one where he tells you about Rocky

You really make me wonder How in the world does a newbie make a plan? How in the world do they know whether to focus on Video Marketing or Webinar promoting? How do they even know who to listen to? Then they begin reading forum posts that all over the freakin place in ideas, methods, and subtle promotions.

Its like Eat Right and exercise....we can say it but implementation is far from that easy.

I have been giving this alot of thought because we are here to help each other and I know in my heart and bones this is the best business in the world but so many struggling. How do we break that struggle for so many of our colleagues?

A marketer with the best marketing strategies is the most quiet in the room most times.

Tap into your true excitement and passion and build an online business around it. Internet Marketing is just one aspect of that.

Online business is tedious, challenging and takes persistence. Sure you can "pick a niche" because its lucrative and then force yourself to follow "goals" and a "plan".

Or you can tap into the real dream of what you want to do with your life, and let that excitement, fun and enthusiasm carry you effortlessly through the required actions, like you are riding a wave.

Maybe when you really ask yourself what you want to do to with your life, and you are honest with yourself, you will find Internet Marketing is not it. Or maybe it is.

The point is that the Internet provides the opportunity to break new ground by sharing your very best talents with the planet.

Don't just make it into another job - take it for the much larger opportunity that it is. You can literally change the world with this technology.

Learn how to manage your time and create a schedule.

Make yourself plan your week out or at the very least you day and keep on task.

You can do it with timers, time blocking, or set periods of work time just going down the list.

It's vital for your success as most people can't do this since we are used to being told what to do all of our lives by teachers, parents and bosses.

It takes a disciplined person to be a successful entrepreneur.

Build a strong relationship with your clients. Be respectable and over-deliver, even if it hurts your pride.

I never understand the concept of "over delivery". If you deliver the value your customers are expecting and have a right to expect then they should be happy.

How did the concept of "over delivery" come about? I'd imagine because a bunch of people "under delivered" and then whinged when their customers complained.

So they added the value their customers expected, whinged again and kidded themselves that they were "over delivering".

Over delivering is not some holy grail - it's a bit like giving a seminar. If you try to tell people everything you know about the subject they will be bored and lost. If you are a true "teacher" in your product you will know exactly what to tell people and what not to tell them.

Over delivery is irrelevant. What you need is a proper road map, even if only in your head, of what you expect your reader/student to achieve, where you expect them to start from and where you are intending to end.

PS - I'm taking thyroxine - it's making me even crabbier than usual.

The process of conducting your business is almost as important as the product itself, make sure delivery is quick, returns are dealt with courteously, your staff greet customers with a smile and a cup of coffee.

Always respect your email list, Don't treat them like they're stupid and will just buy your products if you ask them to.

Every wants some attention In order to get their heart on your side. Interact with your subscribers, Have a talk with them, give answers to their questions, have a friendly or a personal chat with them too on a weekend, Give a honest, detailed but attractive summary about your product, Don't just keep on promoting crap, affiliates or cheap or shared products with your list.

That's all I do with my list and they always cooperate with me as I try my best to sort out their problems and really help them make money online rather than just asking " hey there buy my crap please!".

The gold is in the mine of email list and you need a shovel of honesty to dig it.

  • It always comes down to "value" and how much of it can be delivered consistently. I don't think there is anything more basic than that one thing. If value is lacking so will sales no matter how good the copy.
