Pricing Suggestions for Canadian Market

Hi,
I am starting a Digital Services company in Canada... My company offers these services...

SEO
Web Design
Logo Design
Ecommerce Website Development

Now as I am new to canadian market so I am little confused about the price... I don't want to look my services cheap and crap and I also don't want to overcharge...

I am thinking for these prices...

SEO (Around 500 CAD)
Web Design (Around 1100 CAD)
Logo Design (Around 300 CAD)
Ecommerce Website Development (Starts Around 1500 CAD)

Any suggestions would be appreciated....

You asked a question about not wanting to look "cheap and crap", and proceeded to list your fees which could be considered inflated or reasonable, depending on who you ask..

So I thought I'd mention that Canadians are also aware of fiverr.com where you can get similar service for 5 bucks. This may help you with your pricing strategy in case you are not (insert famous big name corporate design firm here).

    Hi Hassan:

I paid a person $200.00 (USD) to create a logo for me.
    They did an excellent job.

I charged a friend $600.00 to create an ecom site and it took me a whole week of work I tell you. That was less than minimum wage.

SEO is more complex as you must create a lot of content pages.
Those have copy that can pass copy scape.
    Also, they contain images.

It is a never ending battle - I charge per hour.

    Friend $15/hr
    small company $20/hr
    big insurance company $30/hr.

      Thanks Bro...

Though my plans are per month but this helps a lot in making a decision...

      Regards
      Hassan

I say this with respect to other posters, but I think your approach is backwards.

Instead of discussing price, you should focus on the value you can bring. For example, if you have one or two clients which you have brought in business for from their ecommerce website, say that. I would say something like: "Other clients of mine have made X,XXX dollars in incremental revenue per month from my website". By the time you actually discuss costs, it won't matter so long as you provide a good ROI.

If you get a prospective client who starts off the conversation with the phrase "How much is this going to cost me', you probably won't get a sale regardless of how good your sales technique is. You want to work with people who understand that their website is an investment (aka long-term contracts for things like SEO).

Personally, I have never sold anything related to web development or SEO, but I have consulted tech companies and this was my advice. They are doing quite well.

Why not ad a marketing plan in there as well? Offer targeted traffic, solo ads, article submission, PPC services etc.

Really depends on the quality of your service and most importantly the result.

If you know how to rank sites well or create a logo/website that converts, the price looks fair to me.

    Cheers,

    Gary
