Default Effective SPAM filter or Process???

Has anyone experience with software that filters off SPAM?
I'm not talking about those that the ISPs use, but something in addition to these.

I'm getting >hundreds of emails everyday and am wondering if
Spam Assassin or those type of software are worth the investment???

Appreciate any comments from experienced users please...

Thanks.

For me while there's loads of different software out there to combat spam gmail is very effective for this. Just forward your mail via a gmail account and I'm sure you'll notice a huge difference.
