Ezine articles help please

Hi all, I know there are many ezine article threads on this forum however the question that I have is different to them all so thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread.

I sell electrical appliances and use ezine articles. I find it difficult to keep writing new topics about electrical appliances. I know EA can be very good for your keywords ranking high in google and will in-turn send you a load of traffic through your author link. However say for example i wrote about something not in my niche and had a backlink to my electricals site- I would not be doing this for quality traffic but for a good backlink from ezines.

I wanted to know what you guys thought about this, will I be wasting my time or is it still valuable due to the backlink from ezines. I clearly understand that writing about something in your own niche has many benefits. I do still try to write articles about electrical appliances.

I also wanted to know if it is ok to submit the same articles that i have submitted on my own website. Things like buying guides and guidance for customers. I understand that duplicate contents is an issue. I will overcome this by adding the article to my site first and let it get indexed then add it to EA. Is this a good idea?

Can i use the same articles that have been published on EA on other article sites? If so then can I do this without making any changes to the article? How many other article sites would you recommend i submit them to?

thanks alot

Mix your articles up a bit and maybe rewrite them into unique articles. Otherwise, providing that the content you write is related in some way, it will still hold some value. Sometimes you just need to do a bit of brain storming, and look about a little to find some fresh inspiration.

      Hi Andy
Thanks for the reply. I believe you are talking about re-writing the articles or re-wording them for other article directories.

What do you think about non relative articles just for the backlink?

If the articles are not relevant at all there isn;t much point. The content needs to be relevant for it to count in any way.

Just find more sub-topics to write on.

Oh No! that means i have about 5 articles that will be of no use to me. A couple of the articles have a PR 1 on the actual page. would this not class a authoritative backlink?
In my author description i write about what I do and my website link

          cheers

          Hi,

at the moment you are talking about additional traffic and irrelevant backlinks. Although traffic and banklinks are what we all strive for, you must remember your first and foremost goal is to provide relevant, useful information for your readers.

You need to look at different angles for your ezine articles. I'm no expert in your field, but i will take a digital camcorder as an example:-

          - So you may have 3 different types of digital cameras, so write 3 separate product reviews on EZA.

          - Next article Top Tips on how to make sure you get the best deals

          - Next Article How a specific feature of one of the digital camcorders works (you could turn this into loads of articles by picking 3 different features of each camcorder, explaining what it's used for, feature & benefits, where it's located etc.)

          - Comparison articles - Sony v JVC, etc.

          - Humorous articles - Top 10 things you can't use a digital camcorder for, e.g. Making toast, cutting the grass, etc and in your author's bio, tell your reader if they want the Top 10 things you can use your camcorder for, you have a list on your site!

That's just a few ideas. I know even with my limited knowledge on this subject, i could probably come up with a fair few articles. You may even want to ask your existing visitors, what they would like to read about on your site and that should give you plenty of ideas for more content.

          Good Luck

            Hi Thanks for the reply
On my website I have a reviews and tips section which i try to update as frequently as possible. Maybe 2-3 new articles a week for my website that is. I try to keep all related work for the website instead of submitting them to EA. One of the questions I asked above was if it would be ok to submit the same contents to EA after the page has been indexed on my site.

thanks for the great tips. I have a 101 ideas what to write about now :-)

            thanks

You can submit the same articles. EZA may well flag your articles as a problem because of content found elsewhere, but then you can explain that you own that website. An easier thing to do is just rewrite the articles.

If you are rewriting articles from your own site, this should be easy. Because you wrote the original piece and it is a subject that you know a lot about, just spend 10 -15 minutes refining, rewording and retouching (the 3 re's!!!).

If you are suffering from writers block, why some visit some authorty sites in your niche (i'm sure there's 1000s). See if they have a newsletter you can join and find ideas for articles from there. Another site that i discovered yesterday was this - Electronics i have gone to the electronics section for you, but they seem to have 1000s and 1000s of articles on a huge array of niches. Have a read through the articles here and see if you get any inspiration.

              Cheers Partha
