Advice needed on website setup....

Hi all - I'm setting up a site with a view to selling affiliate products initially, but need some advice
on the structure. At the moment I'm thinking of the following setup but I'm not sure I'm going about it
the right way. I wan't to use my own name for branding purposes and intend to expand the site over tme.
I need help! What is the best way to construct it? I want to get the initial setup right first time
so I don't have to redo it in the future. What should I do for....

WWW.MYSITE.COM/ (Home page - should I put my squeeze page here or have a separate page for it?)
WWW.MYSITE.COM/SQUEEZE (I'd prefer to use Optimize Press for this or is Wordpress better?)
WWW.BLOG.MYSITE.COM (Should I use a subdomain for the blog as I want to use a different theme frome
my home page?)

An advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,

    Hi Scouser,

Your squeeze page should be entirely separate from any attempt to make a sale. It's really best if you have a completely separate web site for that.

The sole purpose of your squeeze page is to get folks in your niche to subscribe.

Only then - and after you've sent them several emails with come decent information - should you send them to a review site of one of the products you are an affiliate for.

Then, if they buy the product, you can sell them other products in that niche later on. But the important thing is that your initial contact, via the squeeze page, should be 'neutral' with no attempt to make a sale, without first building your relationship with your subscribers.

And you do this by sending them several emails with decent information, before you attempt to sell any products.

    This give you two advantages:

    1. The subscriber will appreciate what you've sent and the Law of Reciprocity will kick in, whereby it's human nature to feel you are under an obligation to someone who gives you something for nothing.

    2. You will demonstrate your knowledge and expertise in the subject of the niche, which will increase your authority as an expert when you, later on, recommend a product they should buy.

    Warmest regards,

    Paul

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

Optimize Press is a wordpress theme, and a super brilliant one . If you want to use that for your squeeze page on mysite.com but you want another theme for your blog then you can do a 2nd wordpress installation in folder mysite.com/blog or a subdomain if you prefer and use the 2nd theme there. Plenty of choice, depends on what you want your site to do...
