WOOTHEME Canvas Is This Still a Great WP Theme

I am thinking of buying Woothemes CANVAS for some new affiliate review sites.
Is this still a great WP theme or is there something new or better deals at the moment?

Do anyone know the coupon code for the Wootheme Canvas theme?

Thank you so much
Christoffer

It's a pretty basic theme, it's really up to the author

I think it's a good solid theme that can lend itself to many different niches, but it really is up to you to create the solid content that will turn you into an AUTHORity

It's a great theme. A lot of authority sites use it. (Woothemes are great and they have some free themes).

i have used canvas - its a great theme if you dont have much coding experience as there are loads of inbuilt options...if you know what your doing you can create a child theme and edit into something completely different....the good thing with woo is their support...other themes i have used are cr@p for support and will never use again...

be careful , Today WOO Themes increased their pricing prices and removed the life support, so its exponentialy higher then ever before.
Sincerely i don´t know if they will handle these changes, because they are HUGE.

This was the e-mail i have received today from them:

    Hi Customer,

At WooThemes we love creating great products, providing awesome support and doing innovative things with the WordPress platform.

We've been doing that for a little over 5 years, and we'd like to continue doing the things we love for as long as we can. We have a great hunger to deliver happiness in the most authentic & innovative way.

For that to happen, we've made some important changes to our pricing and licensing systems.

    Here's what we've changed:

We’ve increased the prices of all of our products (themes, plugins & WooCommerce extensions.)
We've removed unlimited licenses and lifetime support from our offering.
We’ve implemented a consolidated licensing system (the one we’ve been using for plugins & WooCommerce until now), which now also includes themes.
Support and updates will be capped to one year after purchase (with the ability for you to extend this).
After your license has expired, you can renew that license with a 50% discount.

If you've made a purchase prior to the 1st of August 2013, we've got you covered. You will still receive support for the next 2 years, from your purchase date.
How are we re-investing in WooThemes?

With future revenue via the renewals of licenses, WooThemes is able to do a bunch more than we already are, today. We can allocate additional resources to each of our products (to take them all to a new level) as well as hire additional ninjas to provide great service to you, our customer.
    Grandfathering

We made a mistake with our original pricing & support model. Capping support and updates to 2 years allows us to rectify this mistake. This cap, however, is against the promise & commitment we made to you when you originally purchased our products.

Therefore, we have enabled the choice.

Via your WooThemes Account dashboard, you now have the choice of how you wish your licenses to be processed. You can elect to support our new pricing and support plan with the 2 year cap, or to have your pre-August 1st 2013 purchases grandfathered in. The second option means you'd continue to receive unlimited and lifetime support and updates, as per your original purchase. Once you're logged in, simply visit your license page to perform the update.

We at WooThemes won't treat any customer any differently, should you decide to be grandfathered in, or fundamentally disagree with our pricing and licensing change. This is a choice we are providing to you, along with our explanation for the change. The decision is entirely yours.

If you wish to be grandfathered in, visit your licenses page once you’re logged in on WooThemes.com. From there, if you’re eligible to have your unlimited licenses grand-fathered in, you’ll be able to update all your unlimited licenses bought before the 1st August 2013.

You can read more about about the changes we've made here and our subsequent follow up to our pricing changes here.

We've also spent sometime updating our FAQs, should anything be unclear please feel free to contact us.

It seems this "yearly license" is becoming the defacto licensing model for WordPress themes and plugins.

yes, and for developers its a big punch... without unlimited sites/plugins it can be quite drastic.
Then i see theme forest with a much cheaper pricing schemes and much more diversity i can´t think that woo will have a lot to handle.
For last , if we take a look at eleganthemes that have an yearly subscription of $39 /83 themes or $89 / 83 themes + all their plugins.... then WOO needs to beat them out with really fantastic solutions so they can keep at least their clients.

Hello There.I have been contemplating on purchasing Canvas for my new site projects. With what I have seen it seems Canvas still remains a great theme.I will go for it at once.I have watched the Video tutorial on the woo-themes site.It is highly a customizable theme and in fact I am adopting it for an online store front and an affiliate review site all in one.I can fathom too that the woo guys have a great support-which remains a great motivating key factor.Keep it up WOO!
