What do you guys use to save embedded videos?

There have been several really nice free videos from gurus that I would love to save to my drive in case they get taken down etc. so I was wondering what you use to save the videos to your pc? I have spent a day or two googling this in the past and tried a chunk of different programs, not one of which was really good or worked very well. There was this one cool one that popped a little save button over the video so you could save it but I dont remember what that one was. So any suggestions would be much appreciated.
