Would you launch a webshop without a lot of products?

Hey,

I'm doubting about the webshop for my site. I have a site surrounding Chill music ( Chillhop - Your source for the best in Chillhop music ). A lot of people showed interest in merchandise, so we decided to add a webshop. I totally programmed it to be integrated within the site, and have some (4 at the moment) designs that can be ordered as printed on Hoodies, shirts and iPhone covers. I'm wondering whether there are arguments against publicizing the webshop now and adding products along the way as opposed to waiting until we have more designs finished. People were very excited about the sneak peak I posted up, so I'm leaning towards publicizing it now and building up the catalogue with time. It's different from generic webshops as people enter the shop as to support the brand / artists rather than when looking for specific products (for now). Anyone have suggestions / arguments / experience which can help me? Thanks!

    If you have a 'Buzz' about the shop coming then I would launch ASAP with appropriate message saying more coming soon please book mark/ join feed, / email me to be updated etc message as suites your site.

    Putting it back can lead to it never happening! Too many of us want perfection so delay launches etc and all too often loose the drive/focus/enthusiasm and it never happens.

    Get your music project online now!! And don't ever again let me hear you asking "anyone" to tell you whether you should go ahead or hold back on launching or publicizing a music related project!

    Yes you should we all got to start somewhere, plus starting now will give you a better picture of the process and you can slowly build upwards it sounds unique.
