How I stumbled upon thousands of visitors

Hey Guys,

I wanted to let you know about this awesome website called StumbleUpon.com

Basically what happens is when somebody finds or "stumbles upon" a site that they find interesting they submit it. Visitors to StumbleUpon look through sites that other people have already found. They then can vote to say that they like the site, which gets more views, or say that they don't like the site, which gets less views.

Now if you want your site to do well you have to have an article that people will want to pass along. Sales letters never do well but some controversial article usually does very well. It can be a video, article, or anything similar.

Now to get traffic you can StumbleUpon your website yourself, but it is better to get a friend or someone else to do it. Make sure that your friend knows the tags you want, the description, and the category you want it in.

Once your site has been StumbledUpon you need to have other people say they like it through StumbleUpon. This will help kickstart the effect. You can put a link to StumbleUpon on your website to make it easier for visitors to say they like it.

If you do this correctly you could end up get thousand of FREE targeted visitors to your website.

I hope you find this useful,

David Burnett

You can also buy your site views for a nickel a view I believe? I haven't used SU but I know there are courses on how to use it out there.

    stumbleupon eh?

Thanks I'll remember that next time it's 2008

I thought everyone already knew about stumble already, but perhaps not. Thanks for the post anyways. BTW you want to be careful not to only stumble your own sites because that's a surefire way to end up getting banned.

I tested StumbleUpon Paid Discovery on a couple sites. Traffic was good and bounce rate was high. I would like to find a niche that would match-up with their audience for a better bounce rate.

StumbleUpon is old news and it only works for certain niches. None of mines are particularly good for it.

Their recommendation is not really far fetched from what I need. They have a friendly and simple interface, but my friends are usually only looking for a discount or coupon code in there. If your niche is included in their first recommended interests, you should definitely try it.

I have not seen any positive results with stumbleupon, bounce rates are massive, traffic is low quality.

The format of stumbleupon with the stumble button lends itself to ADD types that keep changing the channel until they find something they life. I use it and have found some good IM articles, but I can't seriously consider it a stable and useful traffic source.
