BLOG LANDING PAGE - With Different Topic Folders? IS THIS POSSIBLE? HELP!

Hi,

I'm Ken and I just started studying Internet last February. I like it and I think it's a very promising and a challenging venture. But because there's really no "one" structure to follow and the information is like a Tsunami--it is easy to get lost. But I'm hanging in there and following Ewen Chia's mantra-"Act on it" and "Follow Thru."

Anyway, my question is--can I have a landing page with several topic folders? This way I will only buy one domain name, for example my domain name would be--

KenExpertInfo (dot) kom (Fslash) AffiliateMarketingNow
KenExpertInfo(dot) kom (Fslash) GetYourExBack
KenExpertInfo(dot) kom (Fslash) EasyTVToPcConversion
and so forth.

(I have to write it this way-or it will not let me post this thread)

--as opposed to buying a separate domain names for each topic.

You could have a wordpress blog and set up static pages with different titles.

Each page would have it's own unique url....that's the only way I could think of within one blog.

You can do that and while Google sees each individual page as if it was an individual website, I wonder about things like trust ranking being shared in a domain with many subjects being covered at the same time.

Edit: forgot to add... While Google claims to treat subdomains and folders as the same thing, you'll probably want to follow the subdomain strategy if you're mixing different topics on the same domain.

I'm sure this is not a unique problem.
Also, I'm trying to find out if there would be any
complications with the hoplinks and opt-in
links with autoresponders.

I have the wordpress MU installed on my root, and create sub blogs on various topics.

This allows you to install the blog only once - you can customize various options in the site admin section, and all other blogs you install will have the same customizations.

Setting up sub blogs under MU is as easy as just filling in your email, user name and password for the blog and clicking a button.

You can load up a variety of plugins and themes which you can turn on and off for your sub blogs, as per requirement.

Tribulant Software's wp-mailing list plugin is a good option for your mailing list creation. You can use it on various blogs for creating lists specific to each niche.

Of course, you can set up static pages as mentioned by Graham, but you will lose the oppotunity to dominate a sub niche with more content pages.

In the MU method, you can set up a blog for each small niche, and create a static page for your main offer/review/salespage. The various posts you make (articles for low competition keywords) could link to the static main page. As your low competition pages rank in google, you will strengthen your main page (optimised for your main keyword) with sufficient links to make it also climb up google rankings.

What this will enable you to do is to quickly dominate smaller niches, and stay on top longer. IN fact, your blog will be a very informative source of information, and you will be recognized as an expert.

For this to work well, choose a 4 letter domain - it doesn't have to make sense - otherwise your url will be too long, and also not be remembered by people who visit. As an additonal safeguard, create a page on the root of your domain listing all other static pages you create, in case the visitors remember your 4 letter domain name and type that in. The other side of this is that if your blog name contains your keyword, people may just remember that keyword and type it in the Search engines - and since you are dominating, they will find you there quickly enough.

And MU means Mutiple User, right (sorry, I'm still
grappling all these lingo.

Can I see some sample blog sites that are like these--if you know any?

Your really cant go wrong with Wordpress . . . its made my life and all of my clients life so much easier.
