I hear these stories all the time about someone who bought a domain name and then some big company came along and bought for millions of dollars... is this really realistic? If so, do these companies find the domains or do the domain owners go searching for the company? If someone wanted to get into something like this, what would be a good place to start? |

It's not realistic: most worthwhile natural language domains have already been bought. Sometimes a company wants to launch a product but forgets to buy the domain. Someone will squat and get a huge payout but that's kind of rare. The glory days of easy domaining are over. Many people are kicking themselves hard because they didn't had the insight to jump into the business when it was really easy to make money. I'm one of them. Tyrus |
