Paypal Closes Flippa Seller After Sale?

Hi,

I just bought a website from someone on Flippa based in Indonesia for a couple thousand dollars. A few days later he gets a notice from paypal that they are closing his account with no reason why.

"For the safety and security of the PayPal network, we often review accounts
for potential risks. After reviewing your account, we have decided to close
it because of security issues."

I had a pretty smooth transaction with him and I never filed any complaints against him. Why do you think they closed his account? I already emailed them(still waiting for response) and called them (they suggested to me that seller calls them).

I don't think he is a scammer because he helped me with the transaction over skype, provided his phone number, facebook information,etc. He didn't hide anything from me.

    May be anyone complain under your account or check your paypal funding source .If they find any clue for them TOS , Then can close any account

    The seller should definitely contact paypal himself. Sometimes paypal may close an account if they suspect that suspicious activity has taken place, especially if transactions involve a significant amount of money such as this one. He should have contacted paypal to let them know that you would be sending him a large sum of money. Paypal has been known to close down accounts if they have a huge spike in activity (say from a WSO, kindle book sale, special product launch, etc.) so it's best to inform paypal of what to expect beforehand. I've actually had my account hijacked where the individual for whatever reason deposited money into my paypal account. Paypal took care of the problem and I ended up with extra money in my account. Not sure what they were intending to do with my account, but as you can see this may be why paypal has these safety measures in place.
