Out of curiosity has anyone ever used Rent-A-List for CPM mail drops? If you have can you please let me know what your experience has been with them. I just set up an email ad and I'll get results in a few days but I just wanted to know out of curiosity. Thanks

Here's my experience with them: Not Great.

I got the 2000 click package and these were my results:
      2031 clicks
      8 leads
      0 sales

I saw that these clicks were coming from click-to-earn sites like hits4pay, dealsncash, and clixsense.
      ...this explains my results.

      you may see better results...

      good luck on your campaign.

WOW!! Really, I' glad I wanted to test it first so no big lost I guess if it doesn't turn out so swell. I got the smallest package available so we'll see what happens. Thanks for sharing.

A little common sense might help here:

They offer "incentive email advertising packages". That's fine.

But then they let you select:
    - homeowner
    - income above 150k
or B2B email and you can select "owner" or "CEO" etc.

Now, people that get paid to read email are most of the time completely broke, working for something like 8 bucks the whole day.

They are interested in "a cold one"... preferably free.

Not saying that "Rent-A-List" is all no good but the things that you can select make the offer rather questionable.

If you are interested to advertise to those less unfortunate you might have some luck but if you try to sell something you might find that there are other places where you might get more for your money.

In my opinion, if you want good traffic I wouldn't go for anything below $0.30/click and I think the best IM traffic can be found through solo ads.

Hmmmm, interesting...might have to look deeper into this.

I personally have tried one of this kind of "Paid To Click" traffic and I did not get good conversion from it. But I will not say that it is junk traffic because there are some Warriors here who is able to make a profit from it.

I feel every business is different and I will only know the results when I test it.

Alright got results back from my test with Rent A List. Not good AT ALL, I didn't even realize it ran, until I logged into my account.

      100 clicks=0 optins

I don't think the 100 clicks were even accurate because I have two separate traffic measuring systems to use as cross reference with each other and both said 62-65 unique visits to my site. I was able to convert with other traffic sources with at-least a 20% opt-in rate therefore you would expect to get atleast 10 people or rather 5-6 to opt-ins with a different traffic source.

Plus I made sure I targeted everything correctly before even sending out the ad. What a rip off. So there you have it folks that's my first and last experience with Rent-A-List. Let me know what you think.

In my experience it was a waste of money. I tried three campaigns and got nothing, sales or opt-ins. Wish I had known the traffic is generated from click for pay type looks.

Very terrible email/solo ad service. Their email lists are not very responsive at all!

The best thing to use with them would be CPC offers!
Because they use their incentive network to make sure you get the 40% guarantee clicks.

As you know and read now on these threads.

They are good marketers, but crap service. You might even say, its just a scam, however I do not know about that. But still, its not really good to throw money at places like this, and always good to do research first

Just think people who were about to invest with these guys have now read this thread. :-)

Generally, renting a list is considered OK provided that the list owner will include an unsubscribe button in each email that is easy and clear. Also, their subscribers should voluntarily opted-in and knows that they opted in to receive emails.
