Amazing what you can find when you browse

So, I'm browsing getafeelancer and found this gem:
I need original 500 word articles on various topics.
I am willing to pay only $0.25 per article and require at least 5 articles each day!

The articles need to pass copy scale or else payment will not be made.

I require the articles in doc format! Please submit a sample of your previous writings.

All articles and their copyrights belong to me if selected.

All I can say is: OUCH!. And the sad part is, someone will take that.

Doesn't surprise me. People want something for nothing these days. I'm sure there's a writer in some third world country with internet access who'll snap that up.

If you read that and you read the words "each day",
those are magical food-words for a freelancer. Get
paid each day - why not?

As Kael41 stated, yeah, a writer in a third world

You'd normally see these low dollar jobs on Rentacoder. There is always someone in another country that's willing to do that. Most will take a few first jobs really cheap to get some feedback.

That's a whopping $1.25 per day. Roughly around $37.50 a month. Wow!! This guy must be out of his mind!

Pretty much. Hell, I've been offered $15 an article for some projects. I hate it when people are actively trying to devalue something that takes work to develop.

And people will bid for the low-wage projects. I see a lot of these jobs posted online. Not sure what kind of articles they get for that price.

That's unfrikinbelievable. I pay no less than 15.00 for my articles (well my writer often gives me 2.00 off that price) and I would never consider going below. When I first started IM I was buying articles @ between 5 and 10.00 and they were so bad I sincerely believed the author was in grade school.

I'd go so far as to say that if I ever did get a quality article for under 10.00 I would pay them an extra 5 anyway and tell them they are undervaluing their craft.
