Hiring Sales Team

We are to the point that our sales are justifying expansion of our small company. Looking for Sales Reps (offline & online). Has anyone gone thru this process and what did you find to be true? What commission rates did you end up paying? We are looking at cj.com for affiliate work. Offline we are thinking of posting listings for sales reps in our area. Also will dabble with google, bing & facebook advertising. Thanks in advance.

    Last year I went to a presentation at Odesk headquarters in Redwood City where one of the panelists had hired their team on Odesk. They created a good system and then were acquired by Home Depot.

      how would you go about setting fixed price for sales person. It doesn't allow me to offer a commission so technically the person could do nothing and still get paid?

    You need to determine how much you can afford to pay in commission while still obtaining a healthy profit. This holds true for all forms of advertising whether offline or online including PPC.

    I usually create a spreadsheet with all expenses/income listed and then play with the commission rate to determine the effect it has on the bottom line.
