Guys, i have a list of 36 subscribers but any time i send them a follow up message the open rate is always low. Even if am giving them a shitload of freebies. Can anyone show me how to turn my subscribers to buyers?

Is your free gift meeting your subscribers expectations?
If not, that can dramaticly affect your open rate in later e-mails.

Sam I'm not an expert by any means and face the same types of issues. Have you considered hiring a coach or mentor that can walk you through the process step by step? It sure beats spending countless amounts of time trying to figure it out.

There are some really good ones on this forum as well.

While 36 is better than none you need to crank that number of subscribers up you may get a sale here and there with 36 subscribers but it won't be consistent long term income.

Also you can resend the message to your unopen and unclicked emails as many times as you want, Just be sure to Change your subject up each time you send a different email.

What type of traffic methods are you doing, Free? Paid? a combination of both?? If your not investing in paid traffic to your squeeze page then you should really start as you can get massive amounts of traffic to your squeeze page within a short period of time and build that subscriber list higher.

You can also use Solo Ads, Alot of people don't like solo ads but i feel if you have a nice converting Squeeze Page, Good Swipe Copy and a Strong follow up in place you will set the ground for your business and start profiting..

The best way to turn your subscribers into buyers is to Launch your own product and when someone buys put a Email Capture Form on the Download Page of the product telling them to subscribe to receive updates on your product along with other valuable trainings in the future...

Once they Opt-In they go onto a buyers list you created with your Email Marketing Host..

What is your open rate? What you consider low might actually be quite good. What are you comparing it to?

Recently Mark Anastasi published his top 25 opened emails for last year, and his open rates on those ranged from 6.46% to 9.00%

The key you need to concentrate on is getting more people on your list and building a relationship with them.

      Kind regards

36 subscribers is a little to judge the performance of your list. try multiplying x100, am sure will have better results then.

Instead of focusing on open rates, I would focus on growing your list bigger and faster.

I don't know who Mark Anastasi is but if he's some sort of guru or expert and those are his open rates then he's not doing a great job IMO.

To the OP. There's a few problems here....

If people aren't opening your emails it's because they don't value them enough. Basically you haven't done enough BEFORE they opted in to convince them that your emails are worth opening OR they weren't expecting to get emails from you at all.

If they opted in to get a free ebook did you make it clear that they'd also be receiving regular emails from you? If not then don't expect them to assume or understand that is the case. They may well have thought they were entering their email just to get a freebie and nothing else. The freebie should only be part of the reason they opt in with the main reason being because they love your content and you and want to hear more from you.

When they just opt in for the sake of getting a freebie they place no value on that freebie, might not even read it, don't put it to use and then forget all about you and see your email as nothing more than a nuisance or spam.

When they opt in make it crystal clear what aside from the freebie they'll be getting from you, i.e. blog updates or exclusive content or emails about XYZ, when they can expect to get them and how regularly you'll send them.

Let them know why it's important for them to open them...i.e. because it will solve their main problem(s) and has benefits XYZ as well.

Make them feel like you care about them as a person and want to help them not just want to send them promotions and make money off them.

Don't endlessly send them freebies either. People don't value freebies and think you're just sending them junk. Plus you train them to only expect freebies and when you try to sell to them they'll be horrified and unsubscribe or mark you as spam.

36 subs is a minute number and too low to jump to conclusions anyway but work on the things above and check out the links Alexa mentioned and then start trying to get more and more responsive subscribers on your list.

You've gotten some good feedback here.

Part of that continuity process Alexa mentioned, and one that a lot of people get wrong, is picking a freebie based on its attractiveness and not on its relevance to the follow-ups.

To pull a fictitious example out of the air...

Suppose you got people to opt-in to get a free ebook on how to build a responsive list. Then you follow up with offers for a CPA course, a book on how to get rich with Kindle, etc. There's a big disconnect there. One or two of those, and you teach people that your emails are a hodge podge of whatever you think might make you a few bucks.

You also mentioned sending them a load of freebies. If they aren't opening your emails, it doesn't matter what you send them because they won't know what's in it. And you train the ones that do open to expect freebies. That's often the reason marketers are surprised by a hostile reaction when they send a paid offer for the first time.

Right now, your list is small. It's time to look at what you are doing. Maybe even ask your list. Use a subject line like "Help - what did I do wrong?" A little humility can go a long way, and people like helping other people, for the most part...

You already had excellent lessons in this thread.

I will help you focus on the essential because I'm studying email marketing and trying to improve my messages.

Here are the best tips I found after analyzing the lessons of various Warriors:

    1. Write with enthusiasm to cause excitement.

    2. People like to be entertained.

    3. Write catchy titles.

    4. Tell a story.

    5. Create expectation.

    6. Write your messages as if you were talking to a friend. Talk about your family and your life.
