Default How to increase your affiliate income with video reviews

Here’s a quick strategy which can help you earn some affiliate commissions in a hurry. It revolves around promoting commission products (clickbank products would suit perfectly).

What you want to do is buy the product that are planning to promote. I know this goes against the grain of what many others will have you believe but IMO, I believe it is important to own the actual product that you intend on promoting.

If you can’t afford the product or don’t want to pay for it, I would suggest contacting the product owner and asking for a review copy. Don’t make yourself out to sound like a freebie seeker. You are an affiliate marketer looking to create a campaign around their product.

Once you own the product – read it or watch the videos! Go through the material and make an honest assessment of the contents (good and bad).

What are going to do next is create a video review of the product. Now before you say anything, making a review video is not hard. All you need to do is talk about the product that you just reviewed, highlight a few of the key selling points and then offer your suggestion on whether the viewer should purchase it or not.

You can either film yourself talking about the product and upload the video or create a screen capture video. You can display the main sales page as you talk through your review and scroll down as you highlight the main points. Your video doesn’t need to be long, I would suggest up to a maximum of 5 mins.

Once the video is ready, post it onto YouTube and other video sharing sites. If you want you can go and social bookmark the video or do some other promotions to drive traffic to your review. Make sure you include a cloaked affiliate link for your visitors to click on once they have finished with the video.

That’s all there is to it. You can use this technique to get in early on product launches before the masses move in or target other high converting products with low level competition. Use this effectively and you can generate some quick affiliate commissions.

Cheers,

Nathan

Great tip, Nathan! I was thinking about doing this with reviewing Electronics, and signing up as an affiliate for Amazon.

If I see a toy that I'll end up buying anyway, I may as well try to make money from it, right!?

Question: What's a "cloaked affiliate link?"

Is that different from an anchored link?
