Advice on book project?

I was wondering what advice people could give me on a book project where I interview a bunch of people with something in common. Like they all started a business or whatever, or have a cool product, what kind of legal stuff do I have to deal with and how should I go about it? Thanks I'm thinking just a collection of stories and experiences via interviews and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with that and can give advice.

I am not really an expert on this but the people you include in your book should be aware of your book project. When inviting for an interview, you have to be clear of what you are trying to accomplish. You should ask permission first and both of you should come up with a mutual agreement. Don't forget to acknowledge them on your book.

Many people based their books on interviews. That's totally possible and the point is not in how you gather the information, but whether the book offers value or not. You can possibly have these advantages by using interviews as the source of information:
    - uniqueness because you have so many different stories
    - support for your book promotion if you can interview famous people in their fields
    - more attractive because it's like the book is written by many authors

The legal stuff has already answered before.

Still not sure how to form a legal contract so I can use the interview material and all. I don't know all the specifics yet, and that business makers idea was just an example. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Since your book is about people running their own business, I am sure it will be informative especially since it's about their experiences. Good luck on your book and hopefully it will be a hit!

What exactly do you want to achieve with the book? Will you offer it as an e-book freebie to help build your list? Are you going to sell it on Amazon and offer affiliates the chance to sell it for you?
