Help with squeeze page?

Hey everyone,

I am a complete newbie in IM and have only just set up my first squeeze page. I am, however, a bit unsure of if it will work so I would really appreciate any comments. My squeeze page is here.

Firstly, will a squeeze page about List Buildling really work? I initially thought it would, as building a list is something I imagine most serious internet marketers will do, but at the same time it seems to be lacking the grand "make money online" statements, which might make it more difficult to market?

Secondly, I would be really grateful of any traffic generating advice (that don't cost too much). I have signed up on Twitter and I'm trying to connect with people in the MMO niche. I also started using Trafficswarm, but I'm not sure how effective that will be.

Thank you very much in advance

Here's my first impression upon landing on your page: "Oh look, ANOTHER list building product.."

How about a headline that says something like.. "Discover How To Create An Army Of Hungry Customers Who Eagerly Jump At The Chance To Buy ANYTHING From You!"

Much more tempting than the headline you currently have. Better yet, make that page JUST the headline and the opt in box. I already suggested something like this in another thread within the last 20 minutes..

They opt in, you redirect them to your list building report. Chances are your new subscribers have already read dozens of these reports.. but at least you have them in a new frame of mind which they haven't been in before. Chances are they'll be willing to read at least the first couple of pages. Work with that.

My 2 cents, I hope that helps.

    Warmest Regards,

    Kenny

P.S. I'm new here.. Hi everyone

    EDIT:

If you want some awesome free traffic.. then get on YouTube ASAP. I played around with that a month ago without really expecting much and posted at least 1 video a day for about three weeks. I stopped because I didn't see much progress.. but lately I've been seeing opt ins every other day. It takes a lot of time and you need to be extremely patient, but if you're able to deliver REAL value, then people will want to know more about you, and be more open to following your links.

Besides, where does money come from anyway?

Hint: the answer is VALUE! No way around it.

Your headline needs to be more enticing. You don't really need anything other than the headline in terms of text. Then have the opt in box directly below the headline.

The simpler the page the better. Don't give people too much to read as it will just distract them from opting in

The design is simple and the texts are easy to read so good job on that. You should leave people hanging so they'd be tempted to know more. Less is more when it comes to squeeze pages. Good luck!

The two biggest issues working against you with a page like this -

    1. It's very much more of the same. Someone very new to the space probably doesn't get why they want a list but someone who gets that has been around long enough that they've seen 100s of pages like this. All with very similar offers.

If you're going after absolute newbies then "List building" isn't a great topic because they won't get it. Offer them something easier to understand.

If you're going after more experienced people, you'll need to change it up to offer something more compelling.

    2. Inline with offering something more compelling. The page itself makes very generic claims with no proof offered. Income claims are dangerous territory but showing evidence of the lists you've built and how responsive they are would really help things along.

Hi Laura - welcome to the Warrior Forum. Like everything else in internet marketing, it will work for some people and not for others. This is just the reality.

It's likely to work reasonably well for experienced, successful marketers. It's likely to work very badly indeed for someone who is, as you describe yourself, "a complete newbie in IM".

There are two main reasons for that (and some subsidiary ones, too).

First, it boils down to trying to "teach people something of which you, yourself, have no experience at all" - which isn't typically a recipe for spellbinding success.

Secondly, when you're a complete newbie, starting out in "IM-related niches" is - for a large variety of other reasons - the single commonest mistake you can make, the surest way of stacking the deck against yourself and the commonest "reason for failing".

That's the superficial part of the answer, anyway.

There's a deeper part, too: ultimately, believe it or not, it's all about whether you want to sell jeans or skating videos (just an analogy). Most people want to sell jeans because "everyone wears jeans". This is misinformed, misguided thinking. Your chances of making a living by selling skating videos are at least ten times as high - maybe a hundred times as high, and there are reasons for that, and they're good and valid and reliable reasons, too: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8031183

Good luck! A major change of direction, right now, before you get going, will dramatically increase your chances of having some good luck. Most people who fail, do so not (as many people mistakenly imagine) through "lack of taking action", but because they've actually set off in altogether the wrong direction in the first place.

(I also agree with Andy's comments, just above, about this squeeze page: I'm afraid it's really rather a poor one, for exactly the reasons he suggests. Sorry. But that relates very closely to what I've said, here: your problem is that you're going after people more experienced than yourself, to try to market to them! How well can that work out?! ).

        Hi Laura,

I don't have a lot of experience with squeeze pages. I've only just started learning about this recently myself.

Anyway my first impression was this is great I like it. If it were me I would put it to the test and see what sort of results you get. You may be surprised.

        Good luck.

I am curious as to why you are not using the methods you are giving/selling.

Aren't you also trying to build a list?

Doesn't that include all the things you have questions on?

Nothing wrong with not knowing, everyone has to start and learn and grow. But I am curious as to how you are selling something that you do not know how to do and more importantly if the specific methods you are selling works or not?

coming to your page I would hope that you personally have "Created an Army Of Customers Who Can't Wait To Buy From You!"

    My 2 cents.

Yeah it could be better but mine's rubbish and that's the learning curve.

    Everything is a test.

I'd create a second squeeze page and use something like Google to split test them. That way you get actual results on which page is getting the best sign-ups.

For me there is a bit of a disconnect between the headline and the free gift.

    But everything is a test.

Just improve a little bit everyday.

You should try adding bullet points to your squeeze page so people know what they'll get if they do sign up with you.

I also agree it's a bit odd trying to sell MMO content to people more experienced than yourself. Maybe look into a differnet niche where you have the experience to back it up?

    Moi Laura,
    Miten menee?

There are tons of great advices from more experienced marketers above, especially I would pay attention to what Alexa has to say. But don´t get discouraged, it is good for the first attempt of making squeeze and you can always tweak it. Still I would reconsider if list-building is the angle you want to take as your first (sub)niche to teach others (for reasons Alexa mentioned).

Anyway, I want to welcome you to the forum and also let you know that as a fellow Finnish marketer I might be able give you some additional help. Do you also live in Finland? At least your name is Finnish. In our country there are not that many individual info marketers (only media companies and marketers who has physical stores etc), so it´s difficult to actually meet someone who shares the same interest and can help each other out...now of course you can (and should) form alliances and business partnerships online globally, but sometimes it´s just nice to chat and find associates or talk about IM on native language...at least that is how I felt when I first started, to know that this is even real and people are making living off of it. I will PM so we can talk, who knows maybe we even live in the same city, it´s a small country...

    Tsemppiä...!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate your advice! As advised, I'm going to have a re-think about the direction I will take and have therefore moved the link from this thread.

Ryken, thanks very much for your PM. I can't respond yet as I don't have enough posts, but I'm going to check out your suggestion.

Taika, moi! Yes, I am indeed Finnish but living in the UK. I do visit the homeland a few times a year though Thanks very much for you PM as well, I would love to chat more! Will drop you an email
