Advice / Feedback on my 1000 Child Authors project
The project is to encourage self-esteem (especially in those that may be underprivileged), promote potential, develop ability and to have fun. Seeing a book in "print" is exciting for anybody but even more so for a child. Anybody and everybody has a book or a story in them.
1000 may seem a lot but with the right exposure it could escalate to 10,000 or more. Who knows. I can handle the publicity side of things, at least initially, but would have to outsource quite a bit of stuff. I am an experienced professional and feel able to handle the exposure that the project might bring, if it gets off the ground.
Of course I have some notion of the size of the task and many of the issues involved but I would like your perspectives and views if you are able and prepared to offer them.
The project is designed to be non-profit making for me and my team but I would need to cover costs etc.
My questions are: what am I missing, what are the pitfalls, what advice can you give, what avenues would YOU explore, what are the tough questions you would ask, what contacts can you advise?
All responses welcomed. I have a tough skin.
