How Do You Stay Focus On Your Business Or Work?

I have always a problem of staying focus. It is like I only have 10 minutes to do something and puff! I am bored. The next time I know it I am doing something else, and leave the other task hanging.

It took me some time to come up with a strategy to maximize my 10 minutes into something worthwhile.

Can you share techniques on how to stay focus on your work?

I think you lack motivation or just disorganized. Try making a list of your daily tasks and assign the amount of time you should spend on each. Practice focusing in completing a task first before going to the next. You will actually feel better when you start accomplishing things giving you more motivation to complete the next one.

On your computer you must install a reminder software. On that way the computer will serve as your alarm clock thingy and what are the next task that you will do. Take also in mind that you are earning so it's there's no reason you'll become bored unless you are raised as a billionaire. Why work with these things though.

I agree make a list of things that you will do that day and stick to it. Thats what I do I have a list of things that I must get done each day. One of the hardest things about making your living online is quite simply discipline. You need to be a well disciplined person since no one is going to tell you that you need to do your work but you. This only becomes harder as you progress as well as once you start making money its easy to become lazy since now you have some cash flow.

PS) If your really 'bored' after 10 minutes then you might try something else. Building your business should not be boring.

I have been in this boat before and its no good really. For me it comes down to also having a job outside the home and daily task that pile up and sometimes it can really cut into how much time I want to spend online working on my blogs and the other things I do. I have a folder on my desktop called "WAHTask" If I know I am going to forget, or just flat out need the reminder and organization I open notepad and type in exactly what I do and save it in that folder. When I save each document I put the date on it for I don't grab old ones by mistake.

I sometimes keep a notebook handy and do the same thing that way. I also found that once I started hitting payment thresholds on websites that boosted my motivation to keep going.

I could be wrong, but maybe the subject matter of what you are working on doesn't interest you at all?

Maybe you need to pick a new niche that interests you and that you love to work on? There can be money made in a lot of different areas, see if there is some money to be made in something you love to work on and talk about.

Also, writing a schedule and sticking to it doesn't hurt.

I am like you and now I just break up projects into little tasks I can do in 10-15 minutes.

So I actually do not have a problem with that.

You may want to work "with" that natural inclination of yours instead of fighting it or thinking there is something wrong with it.

Keep a master list like with https://workflowy.com/ and break the project into tiny little parts.

I think focus is overrated. I think too much focus can be exhausting and boring. The max I can concentrate on one task for is 1/2 hour. Then I need a break.

    paper pen and marker!

I write out specific measurable weekly activities and once they are done i cross them out with a big fat red marker.

    Example:
"email 14 bloggers in my niche with sites that have over a PR2 by friday"

I make a list like that of about 6 to 9 specific measurable weekly activities and cross them out with great pleasure and repeat the process.

I got this habit from weight lifting minus the red marker. After a while you feel bad if you don't make a list.

I'd personally have "tasks to achieve" today so my hours always vary. Keep yourself motivated from what inspires others by watching Youtube Videos.

But usually the thing that keeps me going is understanding why everything that you're doing is for the things you want to make better for yourself. I have a picture of my girlfriend and other things around me that make me realise by stopping, you're only setting yourself up for failure.

Other than that, sometimes you just need to take a break. If you've been going non stop for weeks, months or even years, you need to take care of yourself too.

Personally what I usually do is to set targets and write down what should I have to accomplish within the day.

A little timer could do the trick for you to help you stay focused in time blocks! When the timer rings force yourself to stay away from the computer for 5-10 minutes and then get back! And close Fb Twitter email notifications so you wont get distracted. Keep also pen and paper handy for your tasks!
