For Kindle publishers...don't you love that moment when...

Hey All,

The Amazon Kindle opportunity was something I had been kicking around my head ever since the time I purchased my own Kindle. I love to write. People pay to be entertained. Win-win. No brainer.

My Kindle profits are being created part-time, but they grow each month. The more titles I have out there, the more I make.

My very favorite point in the business is when you submit your completed work and cover graphic to Amazon. When I send that off to them for review and publishing, I am truly satisfied.

In this business, there are things that you can control, and things you can't control. (I guess that's true of any business).

I CAN'T control how many people will buy my titles. I just can't.

What I CAN control is how many titles I have for sale. The more titles for sale, the more sales I will get.

So when I submit my literary "masterpieces" (with accompanying cover graphics), I know that I am making progress. I know that I am increasing my odds for success.

That's why I like publishing on Kindle so much. I write. I publish. I earn. All part-time. All a little bit at a time.

I love that moment of publishing.

    Congrats, man!
Even when a book doesn't sell, you should still keep a smile on your face as it (hopefully) allows you to learn from it and discover why it hasn't sold. Then apply better tactics over time.

    Best of luck!

    Hi....

I am definitely happy with my results so far. I made just under $150 for my first month. Month two should be around $300.

In terms of business, I know that's a good start.

Just need to keep adding to my portfolio of books.

I aim to publish 1 book a week. But like I said, this is all part-time when I have the time.

      But it IS growing.

It is the same feeling when you publish to clickbank, or submit your product on W+ or JVZOO but yes it is great.

Congratulations on your sales, that is an excellent start.

  • Great post Joe. It reminds me of when I came home from school in 7th grade very upset. My Dad asked "What's wrong?" I said "No girls will go out with me!" He asked me how many I asked out, I said "None." He correctly pointed out that if I asked 20 out, a few would say yes. If I asked zero out, zero could say yes.

It's the same with Amazon. You can never predict which title will be a hit, and which will be a flop. To get lucky with that magic title that skyrockets to the top of the listings and sells several copies a day, you have to try. Keep trying until you get a few amazing ones.

My favorite moment is when they title gets approved and I know that it's LIVE...but your moment is a good one because you've completed everything that you need to do & now you can focus on your next one. It's pretty cool that you aren't focused on seeing that one book get a particular result, but simply that you've increased your amazon money machine...

$150 for the first month is definitely a good start. Busy working on my first book now, actually, so this has inspired some confidence -- thanks. I think the numbers rule applies to business, overall -- the more you put out there, the more you'll sell.

So, if I may throw a good old American pastime into the analogy, you are essentially saying that publishing, like hitting in baseball, is contagious?

    I know the feeling.
