Your best mentor is the search button on WF. Whatever question you can come up with has been asked. You just need to put in the time to find the answers. The best thing about this is it is 100% free.

The school of hard knocks. Try, and fail. But learn while failing. That will be 100 times more valuable than working with a "mentor".

In my opinion failing will teach you a great deal, but working with a mentor will allow you to find answers and make the right decisions quicker. However, your mentor needs to be tested, trusted, and reliable. If you don't have those criteria in a mentor they are worthless...

    Just my two cents.

Most of the people who will suggest you need a mentor will be selling a mentoring service in their signatures. Just saying.

The best mentor you can get is Google. If you need to learn something, you can learn it for free. How to create websites, blogs, sales pages, good content, information products, etc.

1 you must discover within yourself first is your passion in this business which one you want to live. Because there are many business models in the Internet business.

Once you find a way then you start looking at the business model.

    Hi Kevin,

I agree with everything that everyone has said above. A lot of people can get themselves started, progress and become successful without a mentor. However, if you take a look at a lot of the biggest success stories, they themselves have had mentors.

A mentor does much more than just teach the 'how to's' and answer questions. A (good) mentor provides support, encouragement and guidance on a personal level. So while it is certainly possible to get by without one, if you are in the position to get one then I believe that it is a good investment.

Bear in mind that mentors aren't a 'one size fits all' solution. It has to be someone with whom you can connect. Not everyone connects in the same way, so a mentor who can be brilliant for one person may not inspire another and vice versa.

So take a look around by searching on here and using Google to find the names of proven mentors. Then do your research into each one to find out their reputation and find some testimonials from their students. If you can get access to some of their products (ideally free ones), take a look and see if their style appeals to you and if you think that you can learn from them.

To give my own recommendations, I would have to recommend Dean Holland and also the man who mentored him, Alex Jeffreys.

At the end of the day, I won't say to you that you absolutely must have a mentor. Likewise I won't say to you that you absolutely don't need a mentor. I can only speak from my own experience and from the experience of a lot of people I know, both beginners and highly successful, that having a mentor make an enormous difference.

I hope you find what you are looking for

    All the best,
    Glenn

This forum has helped me a lot but I'd also recommend the Chris Farrell Membership.

A real mentor will cost you a big ol' chunk of change but if you've got the money to invest, then by all means go for it.

Me personally, I'd go check out the Warrior Forum Review section and go find a quality course in there. Sometimes you can find a quality course that'll literally walk you through the entire process for the fraction of the price.

    Good luck anyway buddy

      It depends on your mindset
Like how bad do you want to suceed, if you have the drive and motivation, focus and discipline, then I'd say you could just compile information from here on the WF.

If you feel totally confused on what to do and need guidance then possibly go for a mentor, as discussed above.

If you need a blueprint to suceed, then take your pick, theres many ways to go about it.
Do your research on this forum and you'll find many more answers.

Most Immers do get hosting domain and focus on a niche to develop ( many to choose from and not just about making money Online), Would build SEO on their page, possibly build a list etc...

You can get overwhelmed as a newbie, so take one step at a time. and don't be scared to ask questions. That's what gets you going, so ask here or wherever you decide to focus on, your questions.

      I hope that helps

And dont fall for every single program out there, many are Rabbit holes, or just give you a tiny piece of the IM puzzle. Research, ask, research.....

    Best mentor? FAILURE

Invest fast and learn lessons quick. Take critical feedback on board and try again.

I get worried if some of my campaigns don't fail. It keeps my feet on the ground, reminding me that I am not invincible

      Kelvin,

I've spent thousands of dollars on IM books and courses and thousands more ($12.5K to be exact) on a coach/mentor. (She was worth every penny!)

I can tell you from experience, as a complete newbie, you DON'T need a mentor to hold your hand. Out of all of the options available to you, 1-on-1 coaching/mentoring and hand holding is the most expensive. And it's not the most productive option for you anyway.

A mentor can be a VERY good investment (it was for me), but not to start with. As a complete newbie without even a basic foundation in IM, you'll be wasting their time and yours. To get the most out of coaching, you need at least a basic foundation in IM.

The best place to start is with a good, comprehensive IM course that teaches you the basics and walks you through what you need to know in step-by-step fashion. Yes, searching Google and the WF can be very helpful, but often, it just confuses you more than anything else. A comprehensive course will save you big $$$ in wasted time and frustration. (Ask me how I know. :rolleyes

I've heard good things about Chris Farrel's membership although I've never taken it and can't speak from experience. However, the two top IM training courses/programs I recommend are Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula (https://www.productlaunchformula.com/) and Ali Brown's Elevate course (an online training program).

She just so happens to be doing a 4-hour livestream today to promote it. You can see it at "Profit Map Workshop" -- A FREE 4-hour online event for entrepreneurs and small business owners powered by Elevate

I've purchased and learned from both of them and both are my top picks for learning Internet marketing.

Once you get the basics down and if feel you still need a mentor, then look for one. You'll get a lot more out of the coaching though if you've done some basic homework first.

      Hope that helps!

To shed more light on Kelvin's question, all the above posts make sense on there own or collectively. But as a newbie IMer the suggestions and information you come across can be overwhelming and sometimes contradictory which can lead to information overload when researching on your own, but don't give up yet .

My advise would be to pick a particular area of intermet marketing, there are loads, if anyone has been successful doing it should offer to assist or refer one who can coach you on the dos and donts in that field, you might need to spend a bit of money but I think this could save you time and money, but I must admit I know it could be difficult to filter genuine mentors but do some research on their reviews/testimonials and trackrecords, but taking no action is the biggest risk.

    Goodluck

    Kelvin,

Paying for your education is the right idea.

I'm not sure why so many people suggest against paying someone with a proven track record of success, but that is their right.

I went to The Ohio State University to obtain my degree, a B.A. in Communication. They charged me for the privilege of promoting that piece of paper to prospective employees.

Sure, I am smart enough to have obtained the field knowledge on my own. I could have gone to the campus book stores, bought the books, read the material, and figured most of it out on my own, saving me some money.

But doesn't that sound stupid? Hard? Time consuming? Potentially confusing?

So sure, you could spend all day and all night on the Warrior Forum tracking down the answers to your questions and you know something? With an infinite amount of time and patience, you'll find what you are looking for, for free.

As for who the people are that have walked the walk, will hold your hand, and teach you correctly from the beginning?

    Bill Hugall
    Tristan Bull
John Taylor (never worked with him but if Rod Cortez recommends him I will too, immediately)
    Myself

This list isn't infinite. I am trying to speak from actual experience, and I haven't received coaching from the full gamut of IM educators.

You will get an entire internet careers worth of internet business experience with these folks at the cost of less than an in-state semester (some will cost less than a class or two).

You are still going to take 'lumps', so why not take those lumps in an accelerated manner?

Good luck if you follow through my friend.
