Technology challenged needs idea for income

Ideas for a small income, (not looking to be an overnight millionaire)...but something that a 65+ retiree could generate maybe $300 a week. But really have a challenge understanding a lot of the terminology. If you were in these shoes or needed something to recommend to your grandma...what would it be? LOL Recently purchased the "workfromnohome" but it so far has me googling a lot of terms that I don't know. At this rate it will take months just to understand it all. Is there any hope for someone like me?

Do you have a area of expertise, or an area of a hobby that you could perhaps monetise?

The simplest thing you could do, for me, is to write a 'How-To' eBook or guide. And then sell it within your chosen niche.

Also stick around these forums - you will soon pick up the lingo and you will learn a lot.

    Good luck with finding something.

I really don't mean to sound rude, but if you didn't understand mechanics would you apply for a job as a mechanic? If you couldn't drive would you set up a taxi service?

I'm not saying don't try and earn money online, but you have to learn the basics first.

You're doing the right thing, using google. Treat it as a learning curve. Stop buying systems. Learn the basics.

There is loads and loads of info on this forum. Stick around, read and learn.

    • Of course you are right Rosetrees, but I guess I fell for the sales pitch "even a complete newbie" "all you need is a computer and internet" LOL ..and thanks to you and Romeo90 for your suggestions!

As suggested above by Rosetrees, you do need to learn basics and the best way to do is to stay on this forum for a while and see what others are talking about. You will learn lots of things, you will be able to make your mind on what exactly to do and also you will be able to identify your interests...
Dont be dishearten if you don't know much, Every one started at a point when they didnt know much.... only reading, search and research will make you learn more and more....
        Good luck..

I'm assuming that when you say "understanding terminology", you
are not in full command of your pc. Ok. let's start.

Here is a link (Not an Affiliate) to learn Windows choosing the same installed in your pc:

Computer Tutorials and Lessons for Beginners

Now days, most like it at your local Public Library you can get all kind of books,
including the use of a pc. to learn whatever you need.

If I were you, I would start selling in eBay. It's easy to understand and making few dollars
at the begining. After you have some experience, you can start looking into
    something else.
You can start selling unwanted items from around your house.
The big advantage is you don't have to make any investment, excepting few dollars.

Good luck and let us know your progress.

Yeah...been doing the Ebay thing for a while, just ran out of stuff to sell. Was finding decent stuff at yard sales etc, But that river seems to have run dry too, plus the costs of shipping with final value fees really limits profits to almost nil. I have the basics of my computer pretty good, just apparently don't have the lingo for internet "work" yet I guess. Ya know, the ads that tell me if I can copy & paste I'm good to go...that's what I needed LOL

My advice is to do something fun that you will enjoy even if it doesn't make a lot of money. Monetizing a favorite pastime or hobby is a great idea. You could go with either a paid membership site where you charge for access or a free adsense based model. It may not make money quickly but when your passion shines through, that's when the dollars roll-in. You don't want to be doing something that you don't enjoy. Your retired. Have fun and make money doing it!

Yep..that's sounds better, something fun, not "school intense" structure. But see I'm already not up to your reply cause I don't know what free adsense based model is...geez I'm in trouble with this bright idea huh? LOL

@retireddesertdweller - Well, if you have the basics of ebay understood than maybe you should look for a dropshipper and market their product. They handle the shipping of the product as well as the product and you collect the money and S&H and pay them and they send it.

Let me know if you have any other questions and we can talk. You can jump over to my blog and there is a contact form if you are interested. Or just email me @ johndavidbrewer1@gmail.com
