Single Opt-in Going To Spam? (Aweber)

Has anyone noticed this? It appears that many of the emails that I have been sending of late go into people's spam since i moved to single optin. I have started letting people know in my intro email to whitelist me to ensure a higher delivery rate.

Am I being paranoid or does Aweber deliver single optin mails differently to double optins?

Do a search. Many WF members have a similar complsint. This is part of the reason I only use double opt-in for my lists.

Single opt-in e-mail lists are sent from entirely different
server blocks than confirmed opt-in lists ('double opt-in)
    within AWeber.

In general, single opt-in list e-mail servers have LOWER
deliverability because they contain more invalid e-mail
    addresses.

Take a look at the full header information for your e-mails
to see the specific server used to deliver your e-mails.
(Their single opt-in servers usually have soi in them and
the confirmed opt-in servers have coi in them).

Confirmed opt-in servers have higher deliverability because
they have fewer bad e-mail addresses.

Just had a quick chat with their support team:

Marc: [7:05:36 PM] I have heard lately that single opt-in e-mail lists are sent from entirely different
server blocks than confirmed opt-in lists ('double opt-in)
      within AWeber. Is that true?

Ian C.: [7:06:30 PM] There is no truth to that.

    Thanks Shaun,

So the question is, is it worth using a single optin, lower deliverability albeit with a larger list (due to a larger, though less responsive list)

    OR

use double optin, with a higher deliverability with a smaller list?

So far I have been using option 1, and that is what I have been telling everyone who asks. I have had success, but was getting worried about the levels of my mail going to spam. But is it the best approach?

You can only get an accurate answer to your question
by split-testing YOUR traffic down one of two paths:
a page with single opt-in or a page with confirmed
      opt-in for your autoresponder set-up.

Then track your results all the way through your
process to see the effect on sales.

Then you'll find out which route works best for you.

I agree. Time for a long, long split test! Thanks a lot Shaun.

Can do a test yourself, create two lists, one is single optin, another is double optin, then use your own e-mail addresses to subscribe, and check whether e-mails from single optin will be in SPAM folder.

Never had a problem with any of my email list messages going to spam. I use SOI.
