This website owner will get a lot of traffic today.......

I was reading a story in a UK national newspaper today about a well-known childrens sweet (candy) which is undergoing an unpopular packaging facelift.

The person behind the story owns a well-known sweetie website and has managed to create a press release with references to his site in the national press.

This is not the first time he has done this as he manages to get a story out there at least twice per year.

This is a lesson for all of us who have a web site.

We should all be looking for unique angles to create press releases for our web sites no matter what the niche. Just one story could drive potentially millions of extra visitors to our sites.

You can read the story here:

    You're 100% correct.

Press releases can bring tons of visitors to our offers.

Even affiliates can run press releases.

You're right a little creativity can produce a lot of press releases.

It helps if you've got money to spend and/or a submission tool to ease the manual workload.

    Hope This Helps !!

      Hi TL

I agree. This would be perfect for affiliates particularly if they have an authority site.

The secret is to get your name and contact details out to all of the media so that the journalists have somebody to contact for a viewpoint if the story relates to a specific niche.

I am a Radio 4 listener (talk station) as well as an avid newspaper reader and the same people keep cropping up to talk about a story relating to their niche.

If you could become an authority figure in your niche it would add so much credibility to your name.

This is definitely really interesting. But it takes a long time to become an authority.

Not as long as you think (as far as the journalists are concerned).

Journalists are quite lazy and if they can easily contact somebody who is involved in a particular niche for a comment they will contact you.....if you put yourself forward.

So if for instance you were involved in the diet niche, a journalist might have contacted you about your viewpoint on the new diet pill that was just released last week.

Alternatively, as the owner of a diet site, you might have been able to send a press release expressing your concerns over the safety of the pill.
