Accepting discrete payments for embarrassing niches?

I have a coupla old niches that help people solve embarrassing problems.

I recently did a survey, and it seems a few people prefer to receive free stuff, they don't want to be identified as having paid for something that solves their embarrassing problem.

Is there any way to accept discrete payments through Paypal or some other payment processor?

Thanks

I don't think so because they must purchase your products by using their real name, but this is a strange problem online.

Usually people get embarrassed when they go to an offline store. This is why they prefer to purchase embarrassing products online. There is no meaning to be embarrassed because of Paypal…

I remember there was an online payment processor which billed embarrassing items with some other normal products, person was still real and identified but the product name and label was faked with some other products...to avoid spouse noticing the item in CC statement

I know your situation is different, your people do not want to get identified... well they have to use real name..but with paypal can you use product labels/names which are not that embarrassing.. maybe they are afraid of those labels getting on the credit card statments..which can be solved easily... LOL sell them Shaving Cream (fake label for your products)

What about having a donate button on Paypal, asking for a certain minimum amount of donation, and they'll get access to the product?

That's an awesome idea. Maybe I could have a discrete payment link, where the main product on all the records is something totally innocuous, and I just send them the actual, embarrassing product on the side without anyone knowing.

  • It depends on specifically what the 'embarrassing product' would be. If it's adult oriented or something considered high risk then yes there are plenty of options out there. However the processing company is generally going to ask for details about the products the merchants offer to make sure it's a clean deal.

This of course has nothing to do with the customers; the merchant can list almost whatever caption they like that shows as payment on a client's bank statement.

A lot of porn companies bill people under different names that have nothing to do with their business. That way if a spouse is looking at a statement, they aren't caught. Might need a similar setup for this.
