How to get YouTube videos viewed

Hi,

I'm sure many of you are YouTube guru's, but I've posted my first video. It shows up, but when I search for it, it's nowhere. I put tags, but when I search those tags, nada.

What do I need to do to get my video viewed?

I'd appreciate any assistance. You guys always have the answers!

What kind of tags are you using. You should be using long tailed keywords and builiding a list of friends and subscribers that comment on your channel too. Thats what has worked for us.

  The only question I have (I am new to internet marketing) is once an rss feed (video or otherwise) is submitted to a directory like the ones listed in the article do you have to go back and resubmit your feed every time there is a new article / video or will the site the feed was submitted to crawl your feed periodically and update itself?

Get three friends to comment on your video, and answer the comments. Do this asap, and youtube will like your video much more.

  It is because of the tags you are using. It should be closed to the highest searched in youtube. Just like in "American Idol" the tags they are using are very closed in search engine. You must use a tags that is related to your video.

Treat it like you would with articles you've written and blog posts you've made. Book mark it, paste links in social net working sites, digg it, redit it, talk about it in forums, email it to all your friends etc etc etc

A good video will go slightly viral and help spread itself.

Post video responses on other related videos that allow them. People then hope from those videos to yours.

Also, make sure you choose the best video still and an intruiging title.

Good videos attract ratings so make sure ratings is enabled. If you can get 4 stars plus over a decent number of views your video could go viral.

I have a video that is currently at around 320,000 views and is rated at 4.5 stars. It gets hundreds of views per day with about 10 - 15 comments per day.

Keep at it and post as many decent videos as you can.

Also, remember that there are hundreds of video sites including some other big ones such as google video. Post your videos to some others too.

it takes time to get your videos as they are once reviewed by Youtube and then posted..now to make them ranked with the tags and keywords you need to get backlinks to those video URL. this is a good way to get traffic.

I think everyone has great suggestions here.. so I'll just add one more thing (like a game plan). When you add a video.. start commenting on other people's videos, share with others through friend requests, and send an email to your list that you have a video posted.. and while you're doing all this Youtube can refresh their search database. By the time you maxed out all of this, your tags should be working for you and you'll get more views.

I recommend posting your video as a "response" to a popular video in your niche...that could get it in front of more people in a competitive niche then hoping people find it through the dozens of similar results in the youtube search...

Network with other youtubers or if you want serp action, backlink to your video. This is assuming your video is titled as one of your keywords. Hope this helps
