Denied By Clickbank...Any Kind Souls Want to Help?

Hey guys,

I am very frustrated this morning as our product that we've been working on for months was just denied by Clickbank. Well...the product wasn't denied, just the sales page. If anybody could help us make some changes that will help us pass their new vendor guidelines, I would be incredibly grateful.

Our product is basically a membership site to help stoners get started with making money online.

Here is the sales page: http://420profits.com/earlyaccess

Here is what CB told us about it:

Hello,

We're sorry, but your Pitch Page does not meet ClickBank's updated Vendor Promotional Guidelines. We have to decline your product in its current form.

You're welcome to resubmit the product after making some significant changes to it:

- We do not allow statements that suggest that the customer can make a large amount of money in a short amount of time with no or very little effort, skill and knowledge. it is not realistic that a beginning internet marketer will be able to replace his day-job. it is more likely, that customers could achieve a supplemental income. Please update your Pitch page to reflect this.

- Please have proof for everything you say, like your personal earnings that you've made and customer testimonials.

- Please describe in more details what the product is and how it will help the customer achieve the stated results.

The way your product is represented right now would leave the customer with unrealistic expectations and in our experience this correlates with unacceptably high refund requests.

Note:

I understand we have to get rid of the "full time income" claims and that should be easy enough. We are also going to be adding customer testimonials this week. But I feel like we described the product in a pretty detailed manner...we even outlined each of the three different modules.

I am willing to exchange advice for gray-hat SEO and/or FB marketing tips

Thanks!

I recently spoke with ClickBank about this very topic, they aren't going to allow anything to do with Marijuana. That's your issue.

I would recommend looking elsewhere other than ClickBank or getting rid of the marijuana and 420 stuff as I'm not really sure what that has to do with what you're selling anyway.

Oh wow, interesting. Well it's built for people that don't have any IM experience and our list is all marijuana enthusiasts. I guess we will just have to go with another service. Thank you

Well, they pretty much laid it out for you in their email. In addition to them probably not liking all the marajuana graphics, here's what they don't like as well:

quit your crappy job and make a full time living online

earn thousands of dollars while you sleep

    earn money while you sleep

start with zero dollars and earn thousands of dollars by the second month

    "banking huge income within weeks"

I've amassed a small fortune. Where's the proof of that small fortune?

Your "proof of income" doesn't look like real proof. It's just graphics that a monkey could whip up with any numbers you want to put in.

Bonus #1: "literally start with $0 and be dominating the Internet world within weeks.

Do you want to work in your pajamas?

Do you want to earn money, even while you sleep?

"anybody and everybody can stake out their piece of online business real estate"

"they will carry you on to financial freedom"

"You don't have to be a computer programmer or tech genius (or anything close to that) to make serious money online. All that is required is a desire to learn and at least one month experience with the Internet (any type of experience)"

Haha seeing you lay all of that out was like a kick in the groin! I guess I was just blind to my own creation. I'm going to have to completely revamp it. Thank you for the honest truth.

You should be glad they denied you because the way this thing is now it wouldn't convert anyway. You've got absolutely no compelling reason for a visitor to do anything when arriving. You should have a benefit-oriented headline at the very top of the page with at least a few sentences explaining what you have.

As it stands now you're relying on people watching your video to get a clue. About half your market probably won't so you ABSOLUTELY NEED to let them know what you've got in text. Once you explain the basics the text can further urge them to watch the video.

Another thing I've got my doubts about is whether stoners are going to pony up a monthly membership fee. I tend to doubt they will, at least not enough of them to make this worth it to you.

There is definitely a market for what you're offering but you need to rethink your approach. I see what you're doing (especially with pot users) as an impulse buy. What you want to do is impress the hell out of them right up front. There are lots of people in the MMO market that buy stuff and then get distracted by the next shiny object and don't do anything with the material they just bought.

I'd bet a quarter pound of premo bud that's going to be your market in a big way so get the sale and hope they stay high long enough to forget about asking for a refund when they don't do squat with the info. Good luck.

This is completely right, I'm afraid.

I'm kind of reluctant to add much, after you told Suzanne she'd kicked you in the groin but there's a serious point here, too: whether you end up on ClickBank or somewhere similar, if you want/expect affiliate traffic, you're going to need a sales page to which serious, pro-affiliates are actually willing to send their traffic. And that isn't one.

The prejudice against stoners and marijuana is obviously offensive and ludicrous, but there's nothing you can do about that, and it isn't really ClickBank's fault anyway. The prejudice against "unproven income claims/references", however, is totally appropriate, fit and proper - and something you need to think about. Sorry.

      This.

      Exactly this.

You don't have to market it towards stoners. YOu still can, but just don't say that's what it is. I'm sure clickbank wouldn't mind if you called it something else, but you can choose to use whatever list of customers you want to send it to.

I have to dis-agree with a few point being made here.

First off, there is nothing wrong with the whole "ex stoner makes it big" approach, there have been tons of products that take that approach (unfortunately I can't recall the names) however what they did differently is they didn't specifically set out to target stoners alone.

There is a line in your video something like "like most people that smoke weed, we are smart" - you need to drop stuff like that. For the average "non weed smoker" coming to your sales page, you've just "alienated" them.

They can't connect with you if they don't smoke..

You want something along the lines of "I was a deadbeat pot smoking loser, but even I managed to crack the code and make money online" - but obviously you want to say it a lot better than that example.

Then the visitor can connect with you and be like "well, if a stoner can do it, so can I".

Also, your header under the video should be above it, then the video, then the call to action.

If you want to add a "written sales letter" under-neath your video I'd recommend you add a content delay and have it appear later in the video.

If you were to take your existing sales letter now and put it on another network it most likely would get approved as it is, however as I've already said (so have others) targeting just stoners wouldn't be the wisest idea.

Remember, your targeting a market that is "stereotyped" as being lazy..Make it relate to EVERYONE and your set!

Your page promises someone they can create a blog and then quickly make thousands in their sleep, and you show generic "income proof" from who knows where with no identifiable connection to anything being sold.

I agree with the other commenter who said their first thought at reviewing the page was this is a scam. Clickbank looked at this and likely had the same opinion.

The "stoner" angle doesn't help. I don't get that at all.

Honestly, I saw your copy, read it, and could not help but feel "spammers" "scammers" "fraud" and "yeah right"

But you're a nice guy - I'd say you tone it down and let the person feel you out a little instead of bombarding him about his crappy job and how he'll make all the money in the world.

Emphasis on with hard work and our solution you can get a great start, no we don't sell the make-your-money in your dream because there is not such thing ... etc. etc. these things bring about confidence

    Good luck.

  • Besides everything mentioned above, I'm not sure about the language used in your video where you say: "My friends all thought I was a F*ck up". As funny and real as the statement may be, I'm not sure if it counts against losing points with CB, and possibly any potential customers. (Maybe add an explicit language warning as this would be appropriate in my opinion).
