    Building the microniche sites.

I'm actually great at writing content. However, after all my marketing efforts, building backlinks social presences, etc. and having a job and a family, I just don't have the time to write the content and build the sites. So I outsource it. But I feel lazy and guilty for doing so

Traffic generation for sure...you could have the best, most unique, most profitable website on the internet, but without traffic, it's nothing.

My biggest hurdle was self doubt, i have found that even when you have the tools that can get you to where you want to be, that pesky little voice in your head starts talking and little by little, it just strips away what confidence you and it is replaced with self doubt.

I have now overcome this thankfully but as a newbie that is what held me back the most.
To the guys suffering with traffic generation, i have found that slow and steady wins the race, dont go looking for a bright shiny new method instead focus on the methods that have been working and have a prove track record, remember see one method through to completion, asses the results you get back and then scale up your winners and dump your loosers. hope that helps

In Internet marketing, I find that it is hard to successfully build a large and fruitful platform. I hope that I figure out and implement a successful formula eventually.

In order of importance to my business!

    1. FOCUS! Getting the things done that matter rather than doing the things I enjoy doing (chatting on Facebook to my friends!!!!!!).

    2. TECH. Dealing with the tech issues. I have a computing and web dev degree but the tech stuff still drives me crazy! (time to make adjustments with the sledge hammer!)

    3. TIME. Like Drew says above. Fitting it all in. Whatever happened to that promise of 4 hour working week (Tim Ferris) and running your internet business from a beach in the Caribbean?

    Ho hum!

Traffic generation is the hardest for me in terms of time and effort. I find once the traffic is flowing, everything else falls in to place through trial and error.

Creating well written quality content for my blog. As stated above many of the technical issues can be learned. Putting words to paper that naturally flow can be a real challenge.

    Traffic Gen.

When I first got into this internet marketing stuff I would laugh at how easily I would be able to bring traffic to my website. 3,000 Facebook friends; tons of forums I belong on, lots of friends offline, I figure I could probably bring in 200 uniques a day at the very least!

Once I started it how quickly did I get hit with reality! Lol. I think it is one of the hardest things to do imo, I envy those who are SEO masters. I am thinking about getting a mentor to help me with SEO, as I feel I am lacking there mostly. I have lots of good ideas, it just takes a while for them to come to fruition...! I don't expect to become rich overnight though, so I just take it day by day. A dollar here a dollar there after a year of trying, and trying again. I am determined to one day make enough money where I can pay for my mother and father and let my dad retire. He is getting too old to worry about working everyday and his retirement is not very high. He's made so many sacrifices for me and my brother and my sister to have a good life I want to one day be able to tell him "You don't gotta work anymore dad."

It sounds kind of cheesy and corny I guess but that's my motivating factor.

Anyways, back on topic... Traffic gen is my weak point and that's why I am here. lol

Why do you want a list of what people find hard?

Anything you put down will have someone who struggles with it.

Everything on your list will be hard for someone and easy for someone else.

I imagine from a psychological perspective, people who struggle are also more likely to fill in your poll so you'll only get one side of the equation also.

Unless you're looking to create a WSO and this is just research into what people need I'm not sure why this information is useful. Even then you already have a heavy sway towards people struggling with traffic and there are thousands of traffic generation products and tools around to address that.

Traffic generation involves few tricks. The reason is we all learn things with time and in my point traffic generation is one of them with experience we learn how to genearte traffic. If some one gives me a whole list of tips to generate traffic I know I won't be able to get 90% results.

Treating IM like a real business. It's not in the poll however I feel that it is very important. Many of us (including me) come into IM with the 'get rich quick' and 'easy money' mentality, which really stalls our development. It's only when I made the mental switch within myself (which took a year and half),did I actually start earning steady money online. I'm sure many of you folks can relate to what I am saying!

No option on your poll for scaling and growing.

Best lesson I learned was that you don't need to know everything. Just the stuff you're doing right now.

The biggest thing I had a problem with at first, and I notice many others currently have this problem, is lack of patience. You are not going to throw up some mini-site with affiliate offers and start making commissions overnight. Become a contributor with great content first and than you will position yourself for recommendations to others that will turn into commissions. That type of branding takes about 3-6 months. So be patient and be helpful to others and it will come!

Seeing things through. I have lots of projects on the go, but few of them really get "finished." Probably the problem of making enough money to make me happy, though I know I could plow through on a couple of the projects and move up further.

You know the interesting thing is I'm a really good writer, or at least i think I am anyway. I've been writing some articles for different clients to try and get some money so that I may invest it in my business, but I'm like most everyone else on here. I think Traffic is one of the hardest things to deal with. as many have said, you could have an amazing website, or a blog that sells the best products and gives the best reviews. You could have a squeeze page that is the doorway to great amounts of information and products but if you can't figure out how to get people to it, and to sign up for it then it's no use. So I'll also put conversion as a hard thing for me as well.

It has to be traffic gen. Like I would be so rich other wise. Getting people to buy is hard, but getting them to agree to a FREE sign up is super easy. Creating a list is a breeze, but the hard part is getting viewers. There are many ways. However, it gets harder every year.

No All Of The Above option? For complete newbies I think all of them are hard.

I voted Where To Start (MLM, Blogging etc.).

Btw, if writing is not a newbie's best strength (or their greatest weakness), then where do you think they should ideally begin to invest their time and money on?

Would it better for a newbie that is not good or comfortable with writing a lot to focus on learning how to make videos, graphic design, or web design?

That's where I feel I'm not good at. But I guess sooner or later I'll have to learn and try to write at least a page or 2 of either reviews or provide information of any products or services I would be promoting.

The moment I read blogging, I start thinking- oh boy this kind of feels like back in the days of school and college classrooms, having to deal with research papers, essays, or open ended questions that want you to write/type something like 10 pages or more. One of the main reasons I've held back and have not been able to decide to go back to school.

Although I heard about the possibility of outsourcing writers to get quality articles and content written for your website if writing quality content is something you are terrible at or haven't been able to get any results with your writing.

Any other advice anyone here can give me is much appreciated, thanks.
