Am I limiting my exposure?

Right now my site is arranged so that the content is viewable by membership only, this includes the blog. By sticking a facebook like or tweet button on the blog posts that would link back to an automatic default sign up page because the page is locked by wishlist member, am I limiting myself? I really want to keep the blog portion under the membership setting and would love others to tweet and like it, but if their friends try and follow the link back, I would imagine they might be annoyed with the redirect . Is there a workaround that might direct someone to a snippet instead that's not locked and they can subscribe to read it all? Thanks!

You could make portions of the blog viewable without membership. Like a category that has only a handful of information from the blog,so people see what they missout if they don't register. Stick the faceboook and twitter buttons only there, that shoulc work..

If I tried to go to a link from Facebook, Twitter or any other social site and found it was locked, I'd bounce fast. Blogs don't need to be paid, as they are supposed to bring in new members, but to me, the way you have it set up, currently, seems a bit scammy.

    Just my opinion.

      Thanks for all the input.

Actually, it's not how "I" have it set up, it's the way that Wishlist Member locks posts. I would love someone to share it, but I also want it to be a perk of the membership. If there was way.....ooooooo I think I got it. If I unlock the whole blog, Wishlist member has some tags that can make the rest of the post only viewable to members.....got it You guys rock!
