HUGE MARKETING OFFER FOR YOU! Presidential Candidate Marketing on the Web and REAL Social Proof...

NEWS FLASH AND NEWS ALERT:

Surely you as a professional Internet marketer are paying close attention to the marketing methods of the current US Presidential candidates, regardless of which candidate you like/don't like and which one you choose to support or not...

Presidential candidate marketing is in the news every day now it seems. Much ado is made about the successes or lack thereof about each candidate's current marketing campaign[s]...

I just watched one of Rick Warren's [Saddleback] interviews of one of the candidates on Fox News, and now the commentators are discussing the high points/low points of each candidate and his marketing efforts. I also just received an email with the candidate's talking points chart as reproduced below...

The Internet, Facebook, email, online polls, telemarketing surveys/polls, driving traffic to specific websites, and countless other online [and offline] methodologies are being implemented at turbo speed every day now.

[And consider that money for marketing is apparently no object...]

The call-to-action is of course getting people to vote, your social proof will be number of people you motivate to vote and who go do that, and your sales metrics will in essence be measured by how many people you get to the polls to vote for your candidate[s]..

Here is your newest/biggest opportunity as a professional Internet Marketer...

Suppose you are such a rockin' and amazing Internet marketer that today you will receive the exclusive private $1,000,000 [one million dollar] offer via a private phone call to work for either candidate, both candidates, or refuse this offer and say why you would not want to work in this arena...

In other words you can be famous fast and have a fat bank account to boot...

Since you are a professional Internet marketer -- if you accept the job as the Online Marketing Director for either, neither, or both of these candidates, what would your winning strategy be if you had the summary of talking points below as your 'content' for your candidate?

In other words, precisely and very specifically, what would you recommend that your client[s] do?

Wanna play the 'politics game' with the Big Dogs and test your marketing abilities? [And yes, you can still play even if you cannot vote in the upcoming presidential election.] Start your rhetoric and hype engines and head off to the start line... and obviously for this thread to work, people need to follow the rules laid out above...

You really got the call. You really got offer a million bucks starting today. You really can have the job. Now what will you do???

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples).
McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales
income tax.

OBAMA 28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this
affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you
will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading
toward retirement and would like to down-size your home
or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you
make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will
adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income
from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% (no change)

OBAMA 39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any
money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college
funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that
pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly
40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president.
The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and
capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely
nothing to cut the deficit.')

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN Single making 30K - tax $4,500 (no changes)
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN - 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and
homes that have been in their families for generations
because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those
willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them
to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400
square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough
already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas,
water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last
but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we
can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world
countries!!!

    Wow...

This has been here for almost 9 hours and not one single person has ventured any ideas or any plans...

Was this thread a total waste of time? No one seems the least bit interested in taking a stab at this. I thought you might like the idea... but I guess I was wrong.

I didn't see anywhere where Chipt gave an opinion on the information he shared. He shared the facts as the record shows. Where do you get any inference to the probability of him voting one way or the other?

What you are seeing is the piss poor record that is being offered by Nobama man. The complete lack of experience and knowledge that he has for the ways of the world. How the Dumocrats could have nominated him is beyond me, but those guys do some really dumb stuff. They seem to think that handing out money to every lazy lo life person in the country is going to make us all better off. That garbage has never worked and I can't see how it ever can. Since FDR dragged on the depression more than twice as long as it should have lasted by his programs, until now, government programs and raised taxes never did anything but hurt our economy.

The best we could do this year is to give the Congress (both houses) a vacation for the term so they can not do any more damage to the economy. They have been passing laws for over two centuries, haven't they passed enough of them to see us through for a while? I have not seen them do much productive in a long time.

I have said more than I should, so I will shut up. Sorry for my rant, but I get real passionate about this subject.

As you can see, the replies above mine are already pushing it over the edge. I know that your intent was to discuss the marketing of the candidates, not the candidates' positions, politics, or personalities. But the answers, discussions, and opinions about the marketing are going to be too closely tied to how people feel about the candidates themselves.

          Jeff

Tim, thank you for actually reading my original post [thread.] If others would have read it, they would know that, as I said, I copied an email I got from someone else, cited the sources listed, and neither made any comments, amendments, or recommendations as to how I might vote or not vote. That is politics, not marketing...

Jeff, I see your point as well, but apparently this is too big a challenge for anyone to take a stab at. [And if the only clients I ever worked with I liked 100% and agreed with 100% -- I'd get sort of lonely.]

The point of the post is for the people here who ID themselves as professional marketers to take a stab at one of the biggest prizes in the free world -- a presidential election.

I said they could work with one candidate, no candidate, or two candidates. So I took the politics out of it on purpose. I gave them the chart summary from the neutral cited sources as their content to work with because that is what they would get from the actual candidate [minus any spin.]

The marketers here could take any tact they desired. And in fact, I set no rules... so it is 100% about marketing, not politics...

It was just an idea to see if anyone would step up. Apparently not. Again it must have just been a bad idea and an hour of my time wasted putting it together.

Sorry to all for the bad idea...
