Bookmarking Demon - Am I doing something wrong

I've been using Bookmarking Demon for several months to bookmark various sites:

1. An MSN Loopholes Niche (7 money sites)
2. An International Dating Website
3. A Travel Adventure Blog

I've been conservative with my bookmarking - the "spam-o-meter" in BMD is always very low. I've probably submitted each site to each of the 109 bookmarking sites in BMD's database at least 2-3 times over two months time, using 10 different accounts to avoid duplicates - I've also sprinkled in rss feeds so I won't only be submitting my own sites (as suggested in the BMD manual)

And for all that hard work (and it's still alot of work despite what the sales letter says) I'm seeing only around 8 backlinks to my sites.

I'm seeing the links in Yahoo site explorer - don't see anything in my Google webmaster account.

I can't imagin that this is the desired outcome as many people in these forums think very highly of BMD.

What's going on here? Are the links there, just not showing in up in Yahoo? Are all the bookmarking sites nofollow?

Anybody have any ideas?

    The classic question that's always asked with any link building method is "When will my links show up?"

    First of all, Google's tools don't show everything they count. They shroud part of what they count and how they count it in mystery so that it's harder for people to game it. Yahoo, while they show more links, are quite slow to getting around to counting them. You may not see these links in Site Explorer for 6 months or more.

    A lot of the links don't get counted though for various reasons. Some of the sites have a poor reputation because they're wide open to everyone and everything. This links probably won't ever get counted. Sometimes the speed of activity on a site is such that links will be missed because the 'bots don't spider deep enough to find them. Sometimes links are nofollowed by the site owner, selectively or in general. These links usually aren't counted but sometimes they'll slip through.

    Bookmarking Demon is a good way to automate a very tedious process but it isn't perfect. You won't get 100% results but you will get results. I really haven't found it "hard work" to use the program. It's pretty easy to plug in a link and hit run. The only tedious part is in setting up accounts.

      Great Info. Thanks for the reply - I feel much better now.

      And in fairness to BMD, you're right about the "hard work" I guess it just seemed that way since I somehow managed to delete all my accounts and had to go back and create new ones. My fault, not the programs!
