I agree that's why I would recommend Adobe Illustrator for easy scalable in web standard which are Logo, Avatars, Favicon, and banners advertisements.

Not your typical response, here, but an option nevertheless is Snagit.

For a quick and dirty Banner, it will Definitely get the job done.

Snagit, Mac and Windows screen capture software from TechSmith (not an aff link)

Snagit is very useful. For only $49, it does:
          • Screen Capture
          • Video Capture to mp4. Whole Screen, or Selection With audio input of your choice PLUS optional system Audio.
          • One click share to youtube, WP, apps, social etc.
          • Image Editing is descent and works with Powerpoint like layers, eg. any item can be moved forward, backward, to front etc.
          • Supports Full Transparency
          • Media Library with tagging
          • Add Html hotspots
          • Easy creation of Arrows, boxes, text, callouts, blur, watermark, shadows, edge effects etc.
          • Any object (text, arrow, whatever) can have customizable shadow applied.
          • Includes dozens of Stamp libraries with hundreds of drop in resizable stamps.
          • Good videos training on their site, gets you up in running with 100x less training than Illustrator.
Not to Knock Illustrator. If I were creating something for print, I'd go that route, but for the web.... it's kind of overkill.

I can't comment on the other 'banner creator' app. Dedicated apps are usually very good at fulfilling their intended purpose, but I for one prefer to replace 5 specialized apps with a single solution if possible.

Really I could go on and on. The bottom line is, this app is SO useful, multi-functional, EASY, and at $49 it's a no-brainer. From the makers of Camtasia. I use this every single day.

Your "creativity" is the best software....

It doesn't matter what you use, if you are not creative, no matter what you use will go down the drain.....

Adobe Illustrator is the best tool for logos. Many will be quick to tell you how expensive it is and how you don't need something so fancy. Truth is you can get the entire adobe suite (adobe illustrator, photoshop, indesign, dreamweaver and many more) for $50 a month. If you are doing more than just a logo, ie flyers, pamphlets, business cards, promo items, mailers, the adobe cloud is a must have.

If you are purely looking for a quick simple logo, you can pay to have someone create one much cheaper and much less time costly than trying to make one yourself if you are not familiar with the process.
