Warrior Forum - Always Looking for a LIKE button!

Sometimes on Warrior Forum I am looking for a LIKE button

I know there is the Thanks button but sometimes I wish there was a like the same as Facebook

When I read a comment thats funny or makes me smile or a sarcastic joke its sometimes a like would feel more appropriate than a Thanks?

Anyone else feel the same

    I usually thank those who write something funny with a double meaning and a lesson behind the humoristic aspect of what they are saying, the same way I thank those who clearly give me important lessons.

    The meaning of the Thanks button here is similar to Facebook’s Like button.

      Yeah I guess so. Just sometimes really feel myself looking to hit that LIKE button instead. I guess I am too accustomed to Facebook :rolleyes:

      Mike,

      Try what I do sometimes. First I hit the thanks button and then immediately hit the "remove your thanks" link on the left hand side.

      That's my way of disliking a post, well disthanking one anyway. Although it doesn't keep a tally of "dislikes", it makes me feel better. :p

    Much of a muchness I think.

    Too many people like things just for the sake of liking them. I think a 'Thanks' is more meaningful than a like and makes more sense. If you really liked something then thank the person for their post. If you don't want to thanks them then you probably didn't like it enough.

    I don't think the forum wants to encourage the sort of posts that would attract 'Likes' but rather the valuable posts that attract 'Thanks' from people.

    Anyone can rate a thread.

    What you do is go to the upper right corner of the thread and choose Rate Thread.

    Then select a star rating of 1-4 Stars (Terrible - Excellent). The stars will show up beside the thread title in the forum.

    They are more common in the War Room and you can see them in the stickies on the main forum.

    Facebook has propagated the all-or-nothing Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down mentality.

    Siskel and Ebert should have sued them...

    If warrior forum puts a like button it will lose its originality anymore. Facebook has their own styles too so as warrior forum.

    And also, thanks is more than enough. This is a blog not a social network.

    Not all for a Like button though. What about changing the red template to blue and switching from a forum to a news feed...

    If facebook had a dislike button, I do not think it would as successful as it has been..

    most forums I've participated in over the decades that have negative karma, negative rep, etc.. are usually filled with more drama and e-thug cliques than useful info. I'm not saying facebook has useful info, but forums should.
