So the title says it all...I would like to know how those here that work with amazon get targeted traffic to their affiliate site?

    Easy...

    Target low-competition products. You will rank almost by accident for those products. Since you are targeting specific products, your traffic will be laser targeted.

    Work out who your target audience is. Find out where they are online (blogs & forums etc). Get your adverts / content in front of them.

      Nearly all initial traffic to my Amazon sites is generated directly through article syndication in selected online/offline publications read by my targeted demographics. It is no accident that my sites have never ranked above the murky depths on Google; these products are in some of the most hotly competitive arenas.

      Using this and other non-Google marketing methods, it is not really necessary at all to choose the lowliest of the low-competition products. Some top marketers are also using several other marketing methods including email, postal mail, social networking, telemarketing, webinars, offline seminars, classified/display advertising, multi-media, and even direct sales.
