domain.com account 'stolen' -- How can I get access, or at least transfer out domains?

Very long story short, I was designing a website for a family friend. I had temporary given him access to my domain.com account. That was about a year ago--he's since disappeared abroad and doesn't respond to any communication. I have several domains I'd like to regain control of. Whois shows my personal address.

Anyway to get my account back? Will domain.com help me out on this?

Is your email there? How about the name, is it changed?

On the whois lookup? Nope, still has my original email and name.

      Thanks.

You need to call domains.com personally and explain to them what happened. More than likely you'll have to send them letters with copies of proof of residence to show you are who you say you are and those are your domains.
Then they'll change user/pass. I've done this in the past, and although it may take a week or two (correspondence, etc..) just do whatever they tell you to do and it'll get done.
    Best of luck to you.

You can still get it since password is the only matter. Find the forget your password link or ask them about it. They will reset it and email you your new password.

    Hi

Contact domain.com and find out their process for dealing with this type of issue. It's probably not the first time they've seen this happen.

    Enjoy your day!
