Spying on Top Affiliates

How does one go about finding top affiliate sites within a given niche? Is it a big secret or are there ways to see who is heavily invested in an affiliate arrangement?

I'm no expert on this, but your question's been sitting here for 5 hours without a reply, so I'll set the ball rolling with one little suggestion and see if it encourages others to reply.

One of the things you can do is to draw up a little list of what look like possibly the best-selling products in the niche, and then do a Google search for terms like "Product-one review", "product-two review", and so on. This will find you some of the sites belonging to affiliates who depend on SEO for their traffic (they tend - overall - not to be the "top affiliates" of course), and it will also find you the sites of other affiliates who don't rely on SEO but still happen to have top rankings. You can sometimes judge which are which by investigating their backlinks: this can show you which ones have apparently achieved their rankings through small numbers of backlinks on relevant authority sites - typically by content syndication - and those few may well be the top-earning affiliates, anyway. It's worth trying.

There are ways you can find all the major affiliates who are selling a product.

For example if you wanted to find all the affiliates who were actively selling a specific Clickbank product, that can be done easily using the right tool/s.

You can then approach those affiliates, and work out an arrangement with them to also sell your product.

It's can also be done another way..

If you have your competitors sale page URL, you can then find all the sites that link back to that URL.

Many of those results will be sites that are selling that product as an affiliate.

backlink analysis works. last time I answered a question like this a few months ago with the same answer, I got a response as if I were crazy.

Right after I made that post, I created a thread outlining how to do it using his example of one of the top clickbank products, and the thread got deleted within about 30 minutes. It probably revealed too much information for free that could be detrimental to many affiliate profits being made by others here.

Using google, you'll find the product, not necessarily the good affiliates who most likely will not mention the product name that will be found via google search.

Interesting, care to repost or PM me? People share free ideas here all the time I'm not sure why it would be deleted.

These are paid tools but they might be what you're looking for. I believe they're more to see what advertisements the big players are running, but you may also be able to see what site they're linking to.

Check them out and see if it's what you need. (No affiliate links)

No secret, these top affiliates are the ones with huge lists.

How else are they going to drive large amount of traffic? affiliate sites? nope, with email lists.
