Understanding Traffic Exchanges

I originally was trying to be a Clickbank affiliate and was making progress when I paid for some coaching. My coach talked me out of Clickbank and convinced me to buy a Traffic Exchange Website from him. His selling point was I could sell Clickbank products on my New Traffic Exchange Website. I am now the proud owner of a Traffic Exchange with no clue how it works or how to make money with it. Can anyone help me understand what I have purchased and how to get it up and running to start making money? Thank you.

I don't see much money coming from many of them, if any. Did you coach just disappear or not explain anything after getting you to pay for the site?

You have a "coach" who convinces you to buy things from him?!

It's a whole new and different meaning of the word "coach".

But you're still referring to him as your "coach", not as your "ex-coach"?!

If you paid by PayPal or credit-card, might a refund request/cancellation/chargeback be the most realistic way forward, here?

If that website could have make money and your coach can build those sites, he should have train you to do so. :O.
He sold his website to you after convincing you, that is something unexpected from a coach.

That's no different than having a fitness coach who sells you his equipment to workout at home

That's not a coach you have, it's a bloody scam artist my friend.

That definitely doesnt sound right. A true coach will never try to sell you something as bad as a traffic exchange website...

Who is your coach? Did you pay him and then he dissappeared?

None of you really answered the guy's question. Lots of the "coaches" sell their own products to their students. It's why most of them are coaching....to get you to buy their products or affiliate products. 100% correct though, not much of a 'coach' if he/she just disappears after selling you a product.

@Jeff737, is this a brand new Traffic Exchange or does it already have subscribers? Is it fully set-up: i.e. banners ads, text ads and ability to upgrade member level, etc.?

Sounds dodgy to say the least! Has this coach of yours completely disappeared? If not, he/she needs to get helping you asap!

I know there are some people on this forum who own traffic exchanges so hopefully they will be able to help you.

ok guys you missing the point our frind here buy something and he want to monetize that!
of course your coach is a di......ck and i don't believe thais a coach probably some scam from facebook..... but the facts is that you have a traffic exchange website and you want to make money right? so you promote that website so people come in your servises and do some exchange.... you should have free and paid servise and some upgrades. then you should do what other websites with traffic exchange do, meaning you promote that in other safelists and traffic exchange sites but you must promote in a lot of them, second you should create some you tube videos with traffic exchange basic keyword or "what is traffic exchange" because the chances are if someone looking what is traffic exchange then he probably look for some network to try that right? you should have upsells and some kind of one time offer. i tell you upfront its dificult to do that in a short period of time but if you set it up once then you don't need to woory because your network gonna grow from the refferal program (that you should have)! the things that i wright about is how i think you make money with your website and i hope that make sense because my english is not very good.... there is another one issue"your coach" you should at least tell in everyone that you know that he tricks you as a newbie and at least you try to set it up for yourself, because if you succeed he get the credit and he gonna say:hey guys buy my stuff i am years in the market and i have create this successful thing and blah blah blah, but you get the point. i hope this information helps

Look I don't know what the coach was trying to do but it looks like he was interested in selling you his product. But understanding traffic is not so simple. I can you tell you what I see in this business. Marketers who try to generate traffic with Videos, Social Media, Facebook ads and Article Marketing etc.

Honestly, there a 100 ways to drive traffic to a blog and or web sites. So lets look at the last one for an example...

If you are a person who likes to sit in front of the computer 5 hours a day and write 7 to 10 articles then you would probability be successful drive traffic that way. Considering you are a fast typist, and think fast on your feet and don't get bored during that all day.

Now if you are pumping out 10 articles a day and when get to 29 articles and one brings in 100 subscribers. Then on are on your way to a successful career of drive traffic that way. But that is not what I see!

I see marketers trying ads for a few weeks and then trying videos for few weeks etc. Based on my experience it doesn't matter what source you use you have to spend 4 to 5 hours working on it. And to me, that is full-time.

Now, if you are the type of person who want to spend 10 minutes on a exercise then ad-sense would be perfect for you. I home this helps.

This is simply not true. Common sense tells us, if traffic exchanges didn't make money they wouldn't be as old as the internet. Just like any other business model, some put in the work and build an income, while others think just owning the business entitles them to profits.

Yes, this is probably true. To add to your point, if a fitness coach sold you a piece of equipment, they'd probably show you how to use it. lol.

As bad as a traffic exchange website? Although I don't agree with how this coach acted with his student (From what I can gather in this post), traffic exchanges are NOT bad sites. They are misused and misunderstood by most, however.

Not many earn money from surfing traffic exchanges but owning one can bring in a nice income, though it will be a struggle not knowing anything about them, good luck with that.
All of these are great and Ventrino has a forum if you use that script on your traffic exchange. Another good way to learn is to join one with a similar set up as yours and learn how they market, how they support and how they run their exchange. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

Looking at a percentage of those that earn money from surfing it's really not that different compared to any other method of IM or business for that matter. Over 95% will fail because most don't give it more than a couple of hours and a couple hundred credits/visitors. It takes time, dedication, work and determination, which not everybody has.

I don't own a traffic exchange and have never owned one, but I used to use them when I first started out online. Owners make money by having different upgrade levels. They charge a monthly fee on two or three different membership levels. These upgraded members get special benefits. Another way to make money is to charge members for buying credits. You can also use your members list as a mailing list etc.
