I know PR.com has a free service once you pay for a profile, then I've stumbled across two new ones, earthpublisher and pitchengine, but there must be a ton free PR services for syndicating your Press Releases?

Which ones are worth using?

Do you guys think sending out one release is enough with one service or should the same release be sent out with the top 10 services (like article directories)?

I think if you send out one with one of the top PAID services (PRWeb, PR.com paid etc) then that is enough, but if a release isn't worth spending the cash on then I think sending it out to a number of free ones is the way to go.

Also if you're doing offline marketing check in your area for a local release site. Here in RTP we have two, and one does have regional sites around the country. They are moderated so not everything gets posted and they need to follow a standard PR release format and have news-worthy content. Promoting the latest affiliate link aint gonna cut it. If you're promoting local companies or can tie something into a regional news item, then they may be helpful:

A paid press release can get you a surprising amount of traffic - and
with some light backlinking PRs will sometimes hang-out the Google's
page 1 for a keyphrase for a shockingly long time.

PRWeb has a feature that lets you put your site in an I-frame right
beneath the Press Release itself. It costs $100 or something but I've
been surprised at how much traffic I've tracked to such things.

Free PR sites get a lot of submissions. There's a lot of room at the
top where the paid submissions are.

Doesn't Big Mike have a WSO "PRBot"? This also has a list of free press release sites included. I have seen tremendous jumps in google rankings by press releases for my sites. Its 100% worth it.

You mean links?

I have PR bot - and technically it does support live links in your
press releases. Whether they show up as live in the actual releases
is a matter of how the press release site works.

Most of the ones it submits to are marginal web-only ones. I'm
not saying they have no SEO value - but don't expect many
people to actually see them. With PRWeb and others you'll get
real eyeballs on your press release as well as backlinks.

I am confused, i have been using 1888pressrelease.com. it is pretty costly (they charge approx $25 per submission). i would like to know of some really good and reliable service that charges max $5 per submission. and is loved by google. can you all suggest one or two such service, which you feel is the best.

About results... I just checked:

The page I'm promoting is on page 1 of google for "the blogging course."

The press release from webwire.com is on page 4,

And the press release from *********************** is on page 10
(I got the $1 option)

Maybe I should build a few backlinks...

Ezinearticles' press release option is nowhere to be found.

I only got started with Press Releases last week, after some research(mostly on here) I made a shortlist of 5 to initially submit to:-

The results have been mixed so far - the prlog one went up straight away, got 50+ visitors and now sits at number 29 for it's(very competitive) keyword. Free Press Release has been a week long mini ordeal - to submit a Premier release you have to pay $1, but you have to put a minimum $20 into your account. I paid via Paypal and SWREG, but it has took a week for the credits to appear in my account, and in that time I have gone back and forth via E-Mail with Free Press Release. I don't know if there was some kind of problem that held up my payment going through or what. My release will finally go live today. With news album, I submitted my release but never received the confirmation mail - which contains a link that you have to click on to activate it. I tried a couple more times, still never received the activation link. There seems to be no way to contact them on the site either. A shame, because releases there seem to get a lot of traffic. I still have big news and i-newswire to submit to, hopefully I'll have better luck

Well try google and type your search term press release submission there. You will get many free as well as good press release submission sites.
