The same content in two different regions and languages

Hi warriors, I need some advice for my upcoming project.

Here is what i'm planning to do:

To buy two domains for different locations: 1. ProductReviews.com and RevisionesDeProductos.es (as you can see it's the same meaning, just targeted to two different regions and languages)

Content also going to be the exactly the same just translated in two languages.

My question is, if I'm doing it right? or I would rather go for one domain with some multilingual plugin? I just think that is easier to rank for targeted region, then domain name is in their own language.

How do you think?

Google agrees with you. (You should host the .es site inside Spain, too, if rankings concern you).

What about backlinks from one domain to other? Is is worth to do that? Does google recognize it as the same niche and treats it as valuable backlinks?

The SEO Forum's probably the place to discuss backlinks, but my impression is that "reciprocal backlinks" (site A links to site B, and site B links back to site A) have always effectively been regarded with some suspicion by Google, and that their value might well be rather lower than one would hope. I wouldn't think that's necessarily a reason not to do it, though - but that's only a guess.
