Can Someone explain this to me?

When I put my keyword in quotes it show up in the search engine. But without quotes I cannot find my article. Please explain.

    Hi,

    When you put the phrase in quotes, the websites with
    those keywords exactly will be shown... without quotes
    is more broad and will bring many more results, thus
    leaving your site/article further down the line!

    Quotes around a key word phrase means that the phrase has to be on the site with the words exactly in that order. Without the quotes means that the words can be in any order on the site.

    For example "wedding on a shoestring budget" shows 15,000 sites where that phrase shows up with the words in that order

    Without quotes 278,000 sites have those words but not necessarily in that order. (Guess whose site shows up #1? Mine)

    People don't normally search using quotes.
