4000 Email List - They All Need Money

So I have an email list that I have never used for marketing. Just captured all these visitors from my loan sites over the years. There is 4200 people on the list after I cleaned it up and got actual consumers.

All these people were in money trouble, or just looking for loans, etc. - SO!

I have no idea what a list this size could generate monthly in income. Would any of you experienced email marketing be able to give me a ballpark amount it could earn assuming the following;
  1. all people on list have money issues
  2. using GVO autoresponder
  3. email frequency is done properly
  4. email copy is done properly
  5. selling online income products (ebooks, tools, software, etc.)
You're the pros here - I am totally IGNORANT in regards to managing a list.

    TZ,

While I can't help you out with your urinary issue, I have sent you a PM regarding monetizing your list.

The idea is that you share your advice in the thread not pitch to him in PM.

The simple answer is no one can tell you how much it can earn as every list is different due to different list owner, different subs, different styles or promotion, different marketing abilities.

No one can give you an answer.

      Rocking,

I wonder if you can spot the irony in your post.

Are some uncontacted for years, then?

I think the potential value of the list may depend on how exactly you've done that, and what you mean by "consumers": if it's a list of proven buyers, that might put rather a different complexion on something that might otherwise turn out to be of pretty limited value, I suspect.

The only way you can predict the value of this with any accuracy at all is probably by testing a reasonable sized proportion of it. Is it possible to segregate the list according to the length of time since sign-up? (That parameter's almost bound to be very significant, I'd think, the reality being that old, uncontacted lists typically turn out to have atrociously low open-rates and click-through rates, and disappointingly little value).

The best way to figure out the proper amount is doing email test yourself. Because situation is different according to gender, location, age and other factors. Since your email list is not huge, it is easy for you to do email test.

Before you make any email plans, its always best to conduct testing first. Know your subscribers first. What offers are they expecting to receive? Also do not promote just to earn from your affiliate link. Promote when you're 100% sure that the product you are promoting is from the person who actually created it.

A list that has never been contacted is essentially worthless IMHO.

Just send an email or two and see how many addresses are still live and opening before you waste too much time on a strategy.
