First of all I'd like to say Adbe photoshop is a great software and no one can beat it. But the price tag too ... no one can beat that tag. So I have photoshop 6.0 on my computer. But looking for some other graphic software this mornng. I found out few good ones. Many of these do wonders. http://www.gimp.org/ http://www.ne.jp/asahi/mighty/knight/index.html (I love this) http://www.getpaint.net/index.html (I love this too) http://www.picnik.com/ http://www.cinepaint.org/ http://opensword.org/Pixen/ Just like to share these with those work with graphics ![]() . |

I like gimp a lot too. Many people say it's too complicated though. Which one do you think is the most user friendly?

I like Pixia for its brush tools. Easy interface. I installed Paint.net this morning (I need to do bulk editing of graphics in a special way which makes my life easy), so I am testing it. So far I liked it. . |

I made the jump to Photoshop a couple years back but for awhile I used Paint Shop Pro. It has a whole lot of functionality for being only a hundred dollars or so.

Thanks for starting the list. We all should contribute to it. Photoshop 5.0 is the cheapest, easiest and better option. But today we have hundreds of free online applications to check out. I donīt have the time to list them all, but take a look at Aviary: Welcome to Aviary They have 3 tools in one (Aviary, Peacock and Phoenix). You can do wonders with them. |

For a super-basic tool you can always use Paint.net. For a comparable alternative to Photoshop, The Gimp pretty much is as good as it gets.

I use Serif Photoplus X2 which is very cheap compared to PhotoShop. But I only do quite basic stuff - it may be worth checking out.
