Other affiliate issues?

I've seen other threads a about affiliates who refund through PayPal so they get commission however block the sale. Therefore ruining PayPal record and of. Course costing money. It seems this can be avoided by delaying commission payments. Is there any other things that an affilliate can do to cause headache? My platform is going to allow easy affiliate sign up. Am I asking for trouble?

Do NOT allow easy affiliate sign up unless you personally want to live to tell the same bad experience that's already being told all around you.

The benefits of allowing people to sign up automatically is far outweighed by the cons. If you want really good partners you'll have to find/create them yourself.

    I agree with Marc 100%

Bad affiliates can only hurt your reputation and lower your EPC.. build relationships and find your self good JV partners

Thanks for taking the time to reply. If you make it clear that commissions are paid after the sale is finalized, say 60 days. AND charge a small fee to become an affilliate, (which is non-refundable if their account is cancelled), would that weed out the dodgy people?

What can they do that will hurt so bad?

Appreciate thought, I have never had affiliates before however am launching something later in the year!

For example if your product is listed on JVZoo, there you have a stats of traffic and conversions your affiliates are sending, so if you have bad affiliates and they send crappy traffic, your conversions will be bad and your EPC stats will be low..and big players are choosing to promote products only with good EPC(earning per click).. so in y long run it's better to have less affiliates who will send good traffic that will convert..and eventauly big players will take your product to promote.. and your sales will only grow from that moment..
    I hope this makes sense

    Best of luck

Thanks mate it does! If you just sign them through your own site though then this will not be a problem either. Well not a drastic problem, and even of they sell nothing, you still get the initial joining fee.
