I dont understand what I am doing wrong. I have banner ads on the side and promote affiliate products, but more importantly, I give away massive value. The one problem is absolutely no conversions. Any help would be appreciated.

    Is your blog content related to products you are promoting?
    If you are promoting info products, make sure you don't give away too much information, because why to spend if everything is free.

    It's hard to tell without actually seeing your blog are you actually asking for sale are you just hoping somebody will click the banner and buy.

    It is possible to give to much free information away, there will be no need for anybody to actually buy if you're just giving away information for free. theres a delicate balance between free and sales content

    Make sure to give a called action at the end of each blog post to check out a specific offer that you want them to buy.

    I have been blogging profitably, for six years and it's crucial to ask for the sale at the end of each blog post otherwise people won't know what to do and just click away

    It is hard to tell without seeing it....

    But are you getting traffic? And how are you getting traffic?

    How do you get your traffic? If you are using any "traffic exchange" services or paid traffic(usually fake) that could explain.

    If your traffic comers from organic searches than the question is are the ads about something your visitors are interested in? They should match the content of your site.. and the search queries used by visitors to come to your site. If you don't have clicks on your banners than try different spots, like inside the header which is the most clickable area or try animated banners that better catch your eyes. If you have clicks but no conversions, well..than try a different product.. better quality one or the same quality but less expensive..maybe something that has a free trial (people love free stuff).

      Assuming you're getting good targeted traffic, try to integrate the products you're promoting into the content/text/context of your blog posts. For example, if your blog post is teaching beginners how to make their first website, the method would look something like this:

      <blog post example>

      ...After creating your website, you need to find a great web host to serve the content online. I use [insert web host company affiliate link here] because they're easy and cheap to get started. Here's the steps on how to setup website hosting with them...

      </end blog post example>

      One of the masters of this is Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income. Check out his blog for some more great examples of the method above.

      Good luck and tell us what ended up working for you.

      Finding a product or service that is both "unique" and "valuable" is the key to making money online or otherwise.

    More importantly to whom - yourself or the visitors/potential customers? Just asking!

    Are you trying to sell "informational-type" affiliate products by hoping people will click on a banner-link and just buy, the first time they see the sales page, without list-building? Just asking!

    Web users are becoming more and more savvy as the Web ages. You need really targeted ads if you're going strictly for "cold" traffic conversions. Warm them up by capturing them to an email list and sending them lots of good tips related to your blog theme. Then work in the occasional recommendation.

    Just think about it from their side of the transaction. When you go out, don't you prefer the restaurants and bars, etc. where the people working there (including the owner or manager, if appropriate) know you and engage you in a friendly, helpful manner? Of course!

    So become THAT guy or gal. It just takes a little extra work, but think of the potential for repeat business (people who buy lots of the things you recommend). Put some real skin in the game, in other words. Don't just stand invisibly and passively and watch all that traffic pass through your doors. Introduce yourself... get to know them a little. Make an impression PERSONALLY.

    Bet that works.

    The reasons why you are not selling anything could be many. First of all, you must have the right content. You believe you give real value, but are your lessons clear? Are your articles compelling, or are they boring?

    What kind of audience is your target audience? Are you reaching your audience?

    Like everyone already said, you must pay attention to what kind of traffic your blog is getting. You can learn about this matter through Google Analytics and Statcounter. Both are free.

    You can have awesome, engaging content but if you don't target and hype up the product your supporting and presell it properly you won't see much of a conversion
